Job Description:

As a Production Supervisor , you will lead the shift team to make in-spec product per production schedule while embracing the PPG Operating System. The shift supervisor is an integral part of the operation and has extensive interaction with production staff, cell leaders, and key leadership members of the plant. The Production Supervisor must maintain close supervision over all coatings production activities with respect to safety and employee morale.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and set priorities to achieve the production schedule
• Plans and prioritizes resources with respect to production schedule and staffing requirements
• Develop people regarding their key abilities and attributes
• Provides timely and meaningful performance feedback to team and team members
• Follows-up on issues from previous shifts
• Ensures proper shift turnover between shifts with respect to EHS, PSM, Environmental, Reliability issues
• Owns and measures shift team performance with respect to EHS, PSM, Environmental, Quality, Production and Reliability goals
• Address performance issues through coaching, mentoring, or progressive discipline
• Leads root cause investigations as needed using LSS tools
• Ensures work instructions are accurate and up-to-date
• Coordinates team member participation in continuous improvement activities related to EHS, productivity, quality, reliability, etc.
• Ensures team members are trained; Tracks and manages team member training and development
• Address performance issues through coaching, mentoring, or progressive discipline

Qualifications

• Two year degree is required
• 5 years previous experience
• Understands production schedule, production capabilities
• Product knowledge
• Proactively identifies issues and takes action
• Must be able to work 11:00 pm to 7:00am shift
• Prior experience as a Supervisor of production personnel, is an asset.
• Excellent problem-solving skills to drive continual improvement efforts
• Strong team leadership skills and the ability to work via influence
