Part-time Plant Custodian

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Plant Custodian you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• To wet mop and clean all surfaces in the lunch room and locker room.


• To sweep and/or scrub all plant open floor space.


• To look for any safety or structural problems in the course of cleaning the plant. To notify the Maintenance Dept. or Supervisor if any problems are detected.


• To verify that all exits remain free of obstruction and notify the Maintenance Dept. or Supervisor if obstructions are encountered.


• To replace lights in the offices as needed.


• To store cleaning and plant supplies in designated areas, as directed by your Supervisor.


• To maintain the inventory of cleaning and paper supplies in an orderly fashion.


• To gather and remove scrap from around the compactor as necessary.


• To maintain the scrubber in operating order.


• To spot paint as necessary as directed by your Supervisor.


• To clean all office space, (e.g. Carpets, Windows, Trash, etc.).


• To maintain outside ramps and sidewalks in a clean, clear and safe condition.


• To manage mailroom and cafeteria supplies.


• To send outgoing mail on a daily basis.


• To retrieve mail from the outside mailbox and sort into mail slot on a daily basis.


• To clean all restroom facilities.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
