What Will Your Job Look Like?

The Supervisor, Mobility Assessment Evaluator works in collaboration with the Program Director and Operations Manager to train, supervise, and coach assessment team members to ensure efficient and effective eligibility determinations are occurring on a daily basis.  This position may be responsible for assisting the assessment team with conducting functional and cognitive assessments with applicants to determine their eligibility and may assist with final eligibility determinations and/or recommendations as needed.

This position will sit in our Los Angeles, California location.

Responsibilities:


  • Lead team of direct reports of assessment team members

  • Learn and understand all aspects of the contracted program and serve as the team’s Subject Matter Expert, both locally and externally and work with management and the Client to follow through on service issues, troubleshooting problems, concerns, complaints and training

  • Conduct operations training with new staff and ongoing training with existing staff

  • Conduct education training for employees regarding new processes and procedures

  • Evaluate assessments and determinations with the assessment staff to ensure accurate results

  • Deliver coaching opportunities to direct staff and act as a mentor to new employees and assist with the development of team members

  • Reads and interprets ADA paratransit applications, intake forms, and professional verification forms

  • Make the final determination regarding eligibility based upon the application, interview, functional assessment and any supplemental information

  • Determine what functional assessments the applicant will be required to undergo

  • Participate in appeals process upon request

  • Assist the leadership team in identifying process improvement opportunities

  • Maintain up to date knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

  • Maintain working knowledge and abilities of MTM and Client Software

  • Maintain a positive attitude when interacting with individuals, support staff and caregivers

  • Maintain safe environment for applicants and co-workers

  • Input information into MTM software and other software as appropriate

  • Respond to any ADA eligibility or complaints and properly document response

  • Submit accurate, required reports in a timely manner

  • Attend public meetings

  • Provide high quality customer service

  • Must conform to MTM’s HIPAA standards

  • Assist with Quality Assurance

  • Build rapport and communicate effectively with MTM and Client personnel to include administrators, management, support staff and applicant

  • Review interview results and application paperwork and follow up on assessments and professional verifications, as needed

  • Appropriate knowledge and ability to perform and oversee interviews and assessments as required

  • Provide further written documentation to Client upon request

  • Conduct one-on-one in-person interviews to assess mobility capabilities as needed

  • Conduct physical and/or cognitive functional assessments as needed

  • Conduct or perform the following assessments (as needed):

    • FACTS Test

    • MoCA

    • MMSE

    • Beck Anxiety Inventory

    • Tinettia Gait and Balance Assessment



All you need is...


  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Rehabilitation, Ancillary Health Care Profession, or a related field

  • Willing to accept relevant experience and specialized certifications in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree depending upon contract specifications (Certifications can include: COTA, OT, PT)

  • 2+ years of experience conducting assessments and making final determinations for eligibility OR 2+ years of supervisory experience (Experience conducting assessments and making final determinations for eligibility)

  • 3+ years of professional experience working with individuals with disabilities

  • Experience and knowledge with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations and sensitivity to issues relating to people with disabilities and older adults

  • Experience conducting information-gathering relating to ADA Paratransit eligibility

  • Strong interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a diverse population

  • Intermediate level of proficiency or above with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint & Excel)

  • Ability to acquire knowledge on additional programs and software’s

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills

  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals of varying levels of disabilities

  • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to a rapidly changing environment

  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects

  • Knowledge of the public transportation system & services
