Position Summary

The Technical Supervisor administers to the technicians and other personnel and takes interest for the quality of their work and the accomplishment of profit goals. The Technical Supervisor manages all technical aspects of projects and checks the jobsites to inspect the technical teams work, finding ways to improve quality, production, and profit.

Pay Range: $65K - $85K plus potential profit share


  • Works closely with Building Intelligence Operations Manager to achieve sales, production, and profit goals.

  • Ensures the quality, standardization, profitability, and timeliness of all technical aspects of building intelligence construction technician activities and that customer expectations are met or exceeded.

  • Effective supervision and efficient scheduling of technicians to reduce unallocated tech time.

  • Maintains adequate level of customer interaction.

  • Resolves customer disputes with regards to technical services performed.

  • Regularly visits jobs/service calls in progress to inspect quality of work performed and to provide on the job training and technical support to field personnel.

  • Available for afterhours personnel support.

  • Ensures specification and code compliance of all technical work performed.

  • Provides installation and technical support to department personnel as required.

  • Ensures adherence to customer and department procedures and standards by technicians.

  • Develop efficient, productive, and enthusiastic technical personnel through recruitment, training, supervision, leadership, motivation, and moral support.

  • Recommends procurement and ensures care of all required technician tools, DDC inventory, and vehicles.

  • Responsible for efficient flow of work, timesheets, and reports.

  • Conducts and/or schedules technical training to maintain high level of technician skills.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • 2-year computer/electronic technical degree and 5 years HVAC control experience or 10 years HVAC BAS experience

  • Maintain an assortment of company trade licenses as applicable to control installation

  • Possess interpersonal, leadership, computer, communication, and management skills

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to travel to and inspect jobsites and to visit customer locations

  • Mechanically oriented with extensive knowledge of HVAC mechanical and electrical systems, controls, engineering, installation, safety practices, job cost, and construction procedures

  • Able to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and control system drawings

  • Routine sitting, lifting, bending, and kneeling

  • Ability to lift 75 lbs. from floor to countertop and countertop to floor
