The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Quality Engineer Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Leading and implementing improvements of our overall quality systems, and quality systems integration in alignment with customer focus, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement


• Coordinating our external customer and regulatory body audits working directly with our division quality and regulatory organizations


• Organizing and managing the plant internal audit system and the corrective action reporting system


• Supporting overall QMS systems and improvement activities including Customer Complaint resolution, CAPA, root cause investigations, nonconforming material management, management of change, and general quality support


• Supporting product quality continuous improvement efforts utilizing methods and tools such as Lean Six Sigma, Product and Process Understanding (PPU), Design of Experiments (DOE), and Quality at the Source

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution


• Five (5) combined years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, and/or Product Engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution


• Seven (7) combined years of Quality, Manufacturing, and/or Product Engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment


• Demonstrated ability to drive a Customer First mindset and Quality Culture within teams


• Experience in leading Quality Management Systems in a regulated business environment


• Knowledge of quality systems such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 and industry-specific systems such as Technical Standard (TS) 16949 and or International Automotive Task Force (IATF) 16949


• Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience, SAP a plus

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
