AMMUNITION SUPPLY POINT SUPERVISOR

JOB SUMMARY

The Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) Supervisor will establish operations and manage the Installation Ammunition Supply Point in support of Fort Hood, Texas. Supervisor will provide support to Fort Hood, tenants units, local National Guard, Reserve and other DoD activities in accordance with AR 5-9 Installation Agreements and applicable DoD policy and directives. Supervises the ammunition supply and services functions of the AFSBn Hood IAW FH REG 700-15, AMCR 350-4, and AFSBn PWS contractual requirements. The successful candidate will oversee the Ammunition Supply Point ICW the AFSBn Accountable Officer (AO) as the primary individual responsible for managing ammunition for; contingency and training support operation. This position will oversee operations, storage, stock accounting and Ammunition Surveillance operations.  The ASP Supervisor will be responsible for providing resources and supply functions, ammunition accountability, and a munitions accountability utilizing Logistics Information Systems i.e. Total Ammunition Management Information System (TAMIS) and Standard Army Ammunition System Modernization (SAAS-MOD).

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Responsible for the proper inventory and inspection of a wide variety of ammunition including small arms, artillery projectiles, powder canisters, fuses, rockets, missiles, smoke, illumination and white phosphorous pyrotechnics, mines and other items.




  • Interfaces with designated Accountable Officer (AO), military/government officials and other contractor elements to ensure smooth operations and compliance with government directives, standards, and needs of the U.S. Government.




  • Responsible for the supervision of day-to-day operations of receiving, inspecting, stocking, warehousing and issuance of Class V ammunition.  Insuring compliance with requirements for AFSBn Hood and the installation are met at the ASP and Ammunition Surveillance operations area.




  • Organizes daily operations and provides weekly reports for summaries to include all ASP and the Ammunition Surveillance internal operations to the Supply Manager.




  • Guides and develops employees on proper Safety guidelines, following the ASO Safety Culture.




  • Designs a training program for assigned employees; develops, implements, and manages a comprehensive training plan for installation supported 89A/89B MOS’s.




  • Performs customer support functions to include; cradle to grave ammunition operations. Influences the processes used to support the total requirement of the customer to gain logistics support in both combat and peacetime situations.




  • Provides proper guidance to employees (counseling, evaluations) on processes and procedures, manages expectations and employs a goal oriented work force. 




  • Monitors and insures compliance with government directives, standards, and needs of the U.S. Government to include Standard Operating Procedures/work instructions.




  • Assists in establishing, updating and maintaining department files in accordance with Government regulations and SOPs.




  • Insures all vehicle operations and licensing requirements for transportation of ammunition are met.




  • Observes proper procedures with handling, surveillance, and storage operations to ensure adherence to proper safety procedures and Net Explosive Weight (NEW) is properly calculated for berm storage.




  • Oversee the accountability and serviceability inspections on incoming and outgoing ammunition shipments, field returns, ammunition in storage, and residue operations. 




  • Insures verification of unit authorization to receive or turn-in ammunition.




  • Works in coordination with Government QASAS to verify contents of shipments against shipping documents or other records. 




  • Supervises the inspection and classification of ammunition and containers to determine corrective measures required for multi-packs.




  • Provides ASP/Ammunition Surveillance with a physical security management program/Supply Discipline Program IAW AR 190-13, 190-11, 190-150, AR 710-2, 710-2-1, and other regulatory guidelines.   




  • Operates/Maintains/Supervises the appropriate Logistics Information System (LIS) or computerized system i.e. Key Control issue system, Munitions History Program (MHP), TAMIS, SAAS-MOD, and maintains employee records for required tasks.




  • Performs other Supervisory duties as needed to perform at the ASP, ARY, and Surveillance operations.



Minimum Qualifications: 



  • Consistent with President Biden's Executive Order 14042, you must be able to meet all health requirements, including but not limited to, current and future vaccination requirements to infectious diseases such as COVID-19.  The Executive Order generally requires that all federal workers and federal contractor employees be fully vaccinated by January 4, 2022.





  • Must have an extensive knowledge of Ammunition Supply Point procedures which includes proper, and timely receipt, storage, and issue of ammunition, ammunition components, and ammunition related materiel as governed my military regulation and instruction.





  • Must have experience in inspection, stock accounting, requisition, stock control, warehousing, salvage, inventory, customer turn‐in, packaging and shipment, blocking and bracing, policing and securing magazines, safety, fire mitigation and fire prevention, routine maintenance of real property, and ammunition surveillance as it pertains to munitions management.





  • Supervisor must have a comprehensive knowledge of the applicable supply and equipment management processes, governmental regulations and is required to ensure effective accountability of all assigned property and commodity.





  • Knowledge of analytical techniques and causative research skills to identify areas of needed emphasis to recommend improvements.





  • Possess operational skill and knowledge of the automated systems utilized.





  • Must meet the requirements of AMC-R 350-4, Appendix B and be capable of being appointed as an inspector.





  • Must have strong interpersonal communication skills and an innate ability to work and communicate verbally, written, and effectively with others.





  • SAAS-Mod Experience





  • Possess a valid Driver’s License





  • Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening





  • Ability to obtain a NAC-I and a CAC





  • High School Diploma




  • Active Secret Clearance



Desired Qualifications:  



  • 89 / 90 series U.S. Army Military Occupational Specialty




  • 5+ Years Army Ammunition Experience





  • 10 Years Supervisory/Leadership Experience
