About the Job

Dudek is currently seeking a full-time Mid- to Senior-Level Biologist to join our biological resources team in conducting a variety of field surveys and assessments, to prepare biological reports and biological resource sections of environmental documents, and assist with resource agency permitting. Project work can occur throughout the western United States but will focus on California-based clients. Overnight and out of region travel may be necessary. This position will be a combination of both virtual and office based (as needed) out of our Santa Cruz, Oakland, Sacramento or Auburn, California offices.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, or related natural resources field.


• Must have a minimum of 8 years professional experience working in the environmental consulting, land use planning and/or resource/regulatory agency sector.


• Attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team and strong written and oral communication skills.


• Project management skills (budgeting, scheduling, managing project teams, working with clients, agency communications)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with special-status species (plant and/or wildlife) of central and northern California


• Familiarity with central and northern California vegetation communities, particularly wetland/aquatic types and systems


• Experience with biological resources impact analyses and mitigation identification/planning


• Experience with state and federal regulatory permitting processes, including laws regulated and enforced by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Water Quality Control Boards, and California Department of Fish and Wildlife.


• Ability to conduct fieldwork and lead teams in challenging terrain and weather conditions.
