Resources for Human Development is OPEN and hiring for Full-Time Mental Health Professionals!!

Resources for Human Development is seeking mission-driven individuals to join our program located in the Bethlehem area. The MHP provides direct services to consumers, significant others, and collateral resources and assists consumers with their daily living needs.

Responsibilities/Duties





  • Residential Crisis Specific Duties including but not limited to early walking, daily planning, meal preparation, and clean-up, maintaining necessary scheduled appointments that have been approved by the supervisory team members.

  • Telephone Crisis Specific Duties including screening incoming calls, providing appropriate telephone counseling, consultation, assessment, and referral to needed services including Mobile and/or Residential Crisis Intervention services.

  • Community Involvement and Team Work including but not limited to providing referral and other case management services for consumers and families at times of contact; either on the phone, in the community, or in the residence prior to discharge.

  • Observe all scheduled and as needed (PRN) medication observations and assist as directed by Residential Nurse i.e. blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.

  • Conduct psycho-educational, skills training, and supportive crisis counseling in residence or community.

  • Consumer Care including spending at least 75% of scheduled time in direct, face to face or telephone interactions with consumers.



Required Experience




  • Three years of related work experience with a Masters Degree

  • Five years of related work experience of which 2 years are in a direct supervisory role with a Bachelors Degree.



Required Education



  • Master's degree in social services

or

  • Bachelor's degree in social Services


Required Qualifications



  • Valid Driver's License


Program Summary



Hope House provides short-term residential accommodations and continuous supervision for eight individuals in psychiatric crisis. Licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, the program provides mental health and stabilization services as a voluntary alternative to hospitalization. Individuals enter the program for up to a maximum of ten days until they stabilize or other arrangements can be made for them. Hope House is primarily funded through contracts with Magellan Behavioral Health, Northampton County MH/MR/D&A, and Lehigh County MH/MR/D&A.
