Job Summary
The Press Brake Operator will be based in Milpitas, CA. Metal Work Machine operator works at a fast pace on projects that require precision. Job involves exposure to chemicals, loud noises and equipment that is both automated and manual
Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:
Install tools in spindles.
Verify conformance of machined work to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, fixed or telescoping gauges.
Study machines instructions, job orders, or blueprints to determine dimensional or finish specifications, sequences of operations, setups.
Select and set cutting speeds, feed rates, depths of cuts, and cutting tools, according to machining instructions or knowledge of metal properties.
Observe drilling or boring machine operations to detect any problems.
Move machine controls to lower tools to work pieces and to engage automatic feeds.
Position and secure work pieces on tables, using bolts, jigs, clamps, shims, or other holding devices.
Operate single- or multiple-spindle drill presses to bore holes so that machining operations can be performed on metal or plastic work pieces.
Lay out reference lines and machining locations on work area, using layout tools, and applying knowledge of shop math and layout techniques.
Verify that work piece reference lines are parallel to the axis of table rotation, using dial indicators mounted in spindles.
Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
Observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources.
Use either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles).
Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
Follow employee safety standards by adhering to both environmental and Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) regulations.
Here is some of what you’ll need (required):
Requires 3 years of industry related metal work machine operator experience or experience in a related area.
Press Brake Operator - form parts to drawing specifications on Amada press brakes. Read and understand part drawings. Check flat parts for dimensional accuracy prior to bending.
Hardware insertion work as necessary
Strong blueprint reading
Previous experience with Fenuc control
Previous experience with Caliper, Square, Protractor
