Cognizant Technology Solutions is looking for candidate with experience as Senior Ops Engineer with 10+ YEARS experiences.

Location:  Whitehouse Station, NJ

Duration: Full Time only - "Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship (H-1B, L-1B, L-1A, etc.).”

The annual salary for this position is between $(150,000-160,000) depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.

Job Description and Qualifications include: (This is a hands-on development role)

Required:


  • Operations Lead Engineer will be responsible for design and implementation of full-scale IT Operations Service Management and ensure that the platforms and services remain available to meet business defines SLAs and SLOs

  • Responsible for providing the 24X7 Support, handling the incidents in timely manner by triaging and communicating with internal and external customers

  • Driving platform’s administration strategies, including maintenance, technical guidance, and security fixes in coordination with the Technology Infrastructure teams

  • Perform implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and remediation services for supported platforms

  • Create and follow processes to implement planned changes to production and non-production systems

  • Perform incident response and break-fix triage for infrastructure system issues

  • Execute and improve vulnerability and resiliency management programs including patch management, infrastructure testing and other proactive maintenance tasks

  • Identify and document opportunities and solutions that enhance service delivery efficiency and improve the customer experience

  • Provide thought leadership to promote the continuous improvement of service delivery and operational practices such as:

- Propose, design, and implement enhancements to current environment

- Develop actionable plans to improve procedures and systems to mitigate risk, ensure compliance with established industry rules, regulations, and best practices

- Assist in developing engineering and operational service metrics

- Create and maintain system run books, documenting day-to-day support, maintenance, and troubleshooting knowledgebase of the infrastructure

- Conduct peer review analysis and acceptance for new or modified processes to ensure sustainability and repeatability

- Analyze performance metrics to ensure timely and accurate delivery of services


  • Minimum 8- 10 years' experience in technology engineering or operations with expertise in Linux and middleware technologies

  • Operations and Support experience on the following technologies and platforms preferred –Java/.Net, Spring boot, ELK, Kafka, MQ, Docker, Kubernetes, API Management (API-M) and Drools Rule Engine, Apache Camel, Camunda, and Azure Cloud

  • Ability to guide and mentor support teams on best practices in APIs, Micro Services, and Cloud environments

  • Hands-on experience in one or more areas - PaaS, SaaS, CI/CD Continuous Integrations Continuous Deployment, CM Configuration Management Docker, Jenkins, Puppet Chef, Cloud PCF/AWS, Ansible, Kubernetes
