JOB SUMMARY:

Clemson University's CCIT Customer Support Services Department is looking for a IT Consultant II to fulfill the following duties:

  • Manages the activities of assigned support area to include technical consulting, project management, systems administration, and technical support for hardware and software used in the support area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



JOB DUTIES:



40% - Essential - Technical Support and Compliance: Directs hardware and software installations by providing procurement specifications, implementation, and thorough documentation. Provides guidance for assigned staff using solution guides, Standard Operating Procedures, and maintains Life Cycle Replacement plans. Uses appropriate tools to assign rights to users and groups and to remotely diagnose and resolve user issues. Monitors the day-to-day service request activity ensuring timely and accurate problem resolution.

30% - Essential - Consulting and Project Management: Coordinates and facilitates the development and continued successful operation of new and existing software applications. Acts as technical lead to coordinate IT projects within the assigned support area. Assesses IT needs and requirements through interviews with support area personnel and compiles data to make recommendations based on findings. Monitors and assists in planning current and future computing needs in order to keep the support area current in technology, including hardware, software, and storage.

20% - Essential - System and Computer Lab Management: Manages or aids in the management of area specific servers, software, and hardware systems. Maintains area computer labs through updating images and ensuring specialized software is updated. Provides documentation for the systems or labs.

10% - Essential - Personnel Management: Approves and manages leave and sick requests. Performs yearly EPMS and Planning Stage reviews of direct reports. Creates training and career plans for direct reports. Coaches' direct reports on an ongoing basis to ensure training and career goals are being met. Provides guidance on complex computer technical problems to support staff.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education Bachelor's Degree and experience in automated information or communication system design, installation, operation, repair, sales, or marketing.

Work Experience Related experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Expected Salary Range: ($ 55,930.00 - $ 64,811.00)
