This role is responsible for the procurement and supply chain strategies for the Eastern Region of US Corn Milling to include Danville, Illinois and Worthington, Indiana.
CORE FUNCTIONS:
Oversee procurement and origination strategies involving yellow corn and white corn for the Danville, Illinois and Worthington, Indiana Corn Milling assets
Lead a small team of merchandisers and accountants that maximize value by procuring milling quality corn from producer partners and elevators on a daily basis
Lead and execute our Sustainability and Traceability Programs within Bunge Milling for the Eastern Region
KEY JOB DUTIES:
Manage yellow corn and white corn positions daily to maximize Grain Commodity Variances
Coordinate closely with Commercial and Sales Teams to ensure proper origination strategies for Grain Commodity Variances and Prime Product pricing strategies
Work closely with Operations to manage monthly working capital and quality for corn inventories
Maintain the daily position and ensure all grain policies are managed appropriately
Position will work closely with elevator managers in determining hours, managing space, and receiving schedules
Responsible for bid management and purchasing strategies
Prepare weekly Commodity Variance estimates
Annual business plan forecasting
Work closely with local seed companies to determine best milling quality hybrids for local corn production
Work closely with producer partners to maximize our Center Field program, along with other sustainability and traceability strategies
REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business, Agricultural Economics, Business, Finance or an applicable related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in key and diverse commercial roles preferred
Understanding of hedging on the Chicago Board of Trade, grain contracting and logistics is required.
Proven leadership qualities (people and organizational)
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment
Exceptional communication (verbal/written) skills with ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the organization
Proficiency with applicable computer software packages, including Microsoft Office applications
Excellent customer service and negotiation skills
Up to 30% travel required
