ATI is a global manufacturer of technically advanced specialty materials and complex components. Our products support diverse markets and industries such as aerospace and defense, oil & gas, electrical energy, medical, automotive, and other industrial markets.

We are seeking to hire a Manager, EH&S to be responsible for directing the Environmental, Health, and Safety function at our Specialty Metals production site (Bakers) in Monroe, NC.

As Manager, EH&S this position will be responsible for the overall direction and scope of the EHS function within the Specialty Materials business unit. This will include management of EHS coordinators at the production site, responsibility for compliance of both the Environmental and Safety functions, and management of vendors and relationship management with agencies for permitting, audits, etc.

A successful Manager, EH&S will quickly grasp ATI’s processes and business culture, assess where the organization is from a safety and environmental standpoint, provide recommendations for areas improvement, and possess a strong continuous improvement mindset.

Additional Responsibilities


* Participate and engage with all levels of the workforce to incorporate EHS into the design, set up, and operation of the facility.
* Ability to develop a strategic direction for the department and develop goals for the facility and EHS team.
* Experienced in developing and maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
* Ability to read technical and regulatory documents and implement applicable controls and processes to meet them.
* Research, propose and implement improvements using Lean Manufacturing principles to improve safety, quality, and efficiency, reduce costs and meet performance goals.
* Serve as a technical resource to operations regarding all safety and environmental affairs.
* Develop and communicate safety and environmental metrics to operations.
* Oversee environmental permitting compliance within responsible group.
* Serve as EHS representative with all plant/managers and directors within operating group for communication of specific plant and organizational EHS issues and strategies.
* Ensure past corrective actions are complete and develop extensive preventative actions for incident avoidance.
* Train supervision in proper incident investigative techniques and develop methodology for comprehensive corrective actions.
* Serve as an active leader in the review of safety investigations.

Basic Qualifications


* Bachelor's Degree in EHS or business related field or equivalent experience
* Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in the field of Environmental, Health, and Safety
* Experience with ISO Standards

Preferred Qualifications


* Previous leadership experience
* Oracle, Maximo, etc., experience

* Ability to foster collaborations, inspire confidence, and motivate individuals across diverse teams in a manufacturing environment in order to meet objectives.
