We're actively seeking a talented Senior Solutions Analyst to join our Reinsurance Team in Aliso Viejo, CA. This role can be on-site or 100% remote.

You will fill an existing role that sits on a team of five people in the Life Insurance division. Your colleagues will include Reinsurance Specialists, Data Analysts, Actuaries and Financial Accounting professionals. This is a cross-functional team so you will continually learn new skills.


Job Duties and how you will make an impact:


  • Responsible for facilitating working sessions to elicit and document requirements for various initiatives around the Reinsurance department. Initiatives may include but are not limited to, process improvements, system enhancements, reporting, and data management.

  • Responsible for becoming the Reinsurance SME across the reinsurance department ensuring business issues are tracked, communicated to the appropriate team members, and are addressed in a timely matter.

  • Work with leaders across the reinsurance area to identify resource utilization and allocation to ultimately determine priorities and resource needs.

  • Drive LID initiatives (new products, new processes, etc.) and technology, keeping all parties informed of status, testing, and problem resolution efforts.

  • Perform and/or facilitate cost-benefit analysis to help drive decision-making around projects, resources, and general budget spend.

  • Responsible for facilitating discussions to document decisions made, issues, and related controls to ultimately communicate to the appropriate business leaders and stakeholders.

  • Represent the Reinsurance department to ensure the needs of both the reinsurance area and its internal business partners are being met.

  • Responsible for evaluating and recommending improvements to existing processes.

  • Serve as a role model and change champion for continuous improvement principles and practices across the department.

  • Develop a strong understanding of Pacific Life's direct and reinsurance business and related systems and processes to become a subject matter expert and the go-to person across the department.

  • Partner with our RE system's vendor to resolve system defects and implement enhancements.

  • Facilitate testing efforts for system enhancements and defect resolution; test planning, environment preparation, etc.

  • Responsible for ensuring procedures, protocols, and training materials reflect current systems and processes.


The experience you will bring:


  • Proven ability to influence others to drive outstanding issues to resolution.

  • TAI or Reinsurance Systems experience strongly preferred.

  • Proven ability to use various analysis techniques to identify the root cause and propose viable solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness and internal business processes.

  • Proven leadership, organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong team building, partnership and collaboration skills.

  • Excellent communication skills; written, verbal and listening.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize/communicate conflicting demands in a fast-paced environment.

  • Detail orientated, self-starter, ability to work independently with strong initiative and able to multi-task.

  • Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel and Visio. SQL and Alteryx a plus.


What will make you stand out:


  • 5+ Years experience in Reinsurance or Life Insurance is strongly preferred.

  • Have one or more process improvement certifications; Six Sigma, (BPM) Business Process Management, etc.

  • Working knowledge of Agile and related practices.

  • Demonstrated experience around project prioritization and resource planning.
