Purpose: The planner/scheduler is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all maintenance work performed in the area to which they are assigned. They maintain liaison and coordination between the production and maintenance organizations; maintains appropriate records and files to permit meaningful analysis and reporting of results or work done.

Key Accountabilities:


  • Daily management of area(s) back log

  • Maintains 2-4-week complete ready back log that is in alignment with customer needs

  • Provides labor and costs estimates

  • Works with area craft and walks the job in order to develop complete job packages, this includes:

  • Job plan (work instruction and required safety documentation)

  • Kit content

  • Required equipment/special tools

  • Required labor

  • Required permits and drawings

  • Requisitions required parts

  • Proficient utilization of the Alcoa CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)

  • Completes work orders in the Alcoa CMMS to facilitate equipment histories

  • Incorporates requested changes/revisions, and/or improvements into the Alcoa CMMS

Kitting:


  • Uses BOM’s and other work instruction to initiate kits

  • Use of daily management for kit status and tracking

  • Coordinates with warehouse personnel and procurement to ensure kit is complete within the required time line.

  • Verifies completed kit for content accuracy

Reliability Support:


  • Maintains accurate Bill of Materials (BOM’s)

  • Provides support to Reliability Engineers as directed

  • Updates PM/PdM activities in the Alcoa CMMS

About You:


  • Two-year technical degree or 4-year apprenticeship program or 8 years relevant industrial experience

  • Supervisory experience a plus

  • Relevant industrial certifications a plus

  • Skills for required use of computer applications (e.g. SAP, CMMS, Microsoft Office, etc.)

  • Must be able to interpret technical drawings & specifications (including minimum use of AutoCAD & ability to make sketches)

  • Have adequate craft knowledge to estimate labor hours and materials and to visualize the job to be performed

  • Good oral/written communication skills

  • Good administrative and mathematical skills with willingness to handle paperwork

  • Have good planning and organizational skills; ability to bring about order—from chaos.

  • Ability to understand what constitutes good instructions

  • Understanding of the accurate use of work orders, priorities, scheduling, etc.

  • Ability to keep multiple jobs in controlled motion—simultaneously.
