Your Responsibilities

As an Infrastructure Engineer for John Deere located in Moline, Illinois, you will provide systems programming support for our IBM Mainframe Environment - your focus will be storage systems, capacity planning and performance.You will also be responsible for the installation, maintenance and configuration of many supporting Mainframe Software Products.


  • Provide Mainframe systems programming support within the Storage, Capacity Planning and Performance team
  • Support and configure Mainframe Disk Subsystems
  • Support and configure Mainframe Hardware
  • Tune new and existing workloads running on the Mainframe
  • Perform Mainframe Capacity Planning duties

What Skills You Need


  • Experience with Enterprise Computing Infrastructure - Distributed and/or Mainframe
  • Experience with Scripting or Programming
  • Learning agility and the desire to learn new technologies
  • Solid communication, collaboration, and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and every changing computing environment

What Makes You Stand Out


  • Mainframe Systems experience in Capacity Planning, Performance or Storage Systems
  • Previous working knowledge of John Deere's Mainframe environment
  • Ability to code in a Mainframe language, i.e. REXX, COBOL, SAS

Education

Ideally you would have the following education or equivalent work experience:


  • 4-year degree in computing technology and/or theory
