PURPOSE:

To ensure that all quality testing of products is performed in an accurate manner to TreeNet Methods, or Intelex controlled procedures. To measure the product quality attributes on the assigned product line to the specification. To participate as a member of the production team as assigned, in order to maximize product quality and production efficiency. To ensure analytical attributes and other requirements are in specification. To meet or exceed regulatory and customer requirements.

SUMMARY:

To monitor assigned production processes and product and perform testing to TreeNet Methods, or Intelex controlled procedures to ensure product meets all regulatory requirements and customer specifications. To work as a team in cooperation with the line Operators and Supervisors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. All of the following are to be performed while adhering to Tree Top operational policies, safety rules, procedures and good manufacturing practices. It is the responsibility of every employee at Tree Top Inc. to report food safety and food quality problems or risks to personnel with the authority to initiate action against these said possible risks. The Organization chart indicated key personnel with the authority to take action. Regular and predictable attendance is essential to this role.

  1. Communicate Effectively:


  1. Communicate any out of specification checks or deviations from control limits or specifications to Supervision and Line Operators, and assist them in corrective actions.

  2. Communicate process information to Supervision and process line Operators

  3. Notify Supervisor and QA Supervisor, or QA Technical Services Manager of laboratory equipment malfunction or failure.


  1. Complete Paperwork Accurately:


  1. Pull customer specifications from M3 or TreeNet and reference TreeNet Methods or Intelex controlled procedures

  2. Record and enter analytical results on the grade records and into the M3 and PC programs

  3. Check the grade sheet data against customer specifications. Identify out of specification and place on Status 3 hold.

  4. Complete paperwork according to Tree Top company standards. Record checks at the time of the check.

  5. Prepare manifest tickets and hold tickets as required.


  1. Maintain Knowledge of Production, Quality, and Food Safety Procedures:


  1. Demonstrate ability to accurately perform all product testing.

  2. Relieve and Assist Quality Technician I on assigned process line

  3. Utilize appropriate procedure(s) per customer specification

  4. Inspect product and product lines to ensure GMPs/HACCP/PCHF compliance

  5. Promote Continuous Improvement of the process

  6. Learn new procedures and job-related information

  7. Cross-train as assigned to back up Quality Assurance Technician I

  8. Ensure accuracy of testing by calibration of laboratory equipment, per calibration frequency


  1. Utilize Equipment and Materials:


  1. Mix chemicals safely

  2. Operate and calibrate lab equipment

  3. Prepare needed supplies for daily use

  4. Maintain a clean work station on scheduled shift and ensure work station is clean prior to subsequent shift.

  5. Understand all production processes and assist and maximizing quality, efficiencies and meet or exceed customer specifications.

  6. Measure preservative levels in flumes, in-process and in finished product as assigned


  1. Industrial and Food Safety


  1. Follow proper Lock Out/Tag Out procedures/standards.

  2. Follow all Haz-Com and Chemical Safety procedures/standards.

  3. Follow all Good Manufacturing Practice procedures and standards.

  4. Follow all Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point procedure/standards.

  5. Wear required and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment at all times.

  6. Identify and address all unsafe conditions and unsafe acts - Report to Supervisor on shift

  7. Follow all other applicable safety rules and regulations.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

SKPP


  • Must meet specific qualifications detailed in SKPP: Plant Specific, Skill Block, Performance standards and other criteria.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months to one-year position-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:


  • Ability to read, write, and speak and understand in English, in order to interpret documents such as specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers and supervisors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:


  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions percentages, area, and averages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, add, subtract, multiply, and divide, whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
