If you're a Quality Engineer professional who's passionate about product and process improvements in the areas of Quality Assurance, Production and Manufacturing, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you in Stafford, TX.  This exciting opportunity will provide Quality Management Systems support, supplier qualifications and monitoring, process improvements, codes and certifications, along with corrective and preventative actions.  
 
As A QUALITY ENGINEER, YOU WILL: 


  • Conduct analysis and develop proposals for product and processes related continuous improvement projects

  • Manage quality metrics and take actions to address undesirable trends.

  • Coordinate Customer Satisfaction Surveys.

  • Perform audits of quality procedures and functions.

  • Write procedures and work instructions.

  • Work closely with Production Engineering, Materials and Manufacturing to address issues


  • Establish methods for improving Quality through the development and review of Standard Operating Procedures, Quality Standards and Process and Production Control techniques

  • Use application of Six Sigma Methodologies such as Process Mapping, FMEA, DOE, Gage R&R

  • Conduct internal and external Quality System investigations and audits

  • Develop and implement Manufacturing improvements and methodologies

  • Maintain Corrective and Preventive action system, Approved Supplier List, Certifications, Specifications, Calibration Systems, etc.

  • Develop and analyze statistical data in order to provide recommendations to achieve favorable yield levels and product conformance to specifications

  • Review and monitor Quality Control inspections and tests for trend analysis

  • Publish statistical data for management review

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • BS degree in Engineering

  • 5 or more years’ experience QA/QC in manufacturing /assembly environment

  • Working knowledge of valves

  • Knowledge of power industry standards ASME Codes, ANSI, ASTM, military specifications and other material and welding standards desirable

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and the Pressure Equipment Directive

  • Proficiency utilizing MS Access, PowerPoint, Excel and Word

  • Working knowledge of relational data bases and Quality Information Systems

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Good analytical and quantitative skills

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  


  • ASQ CQE Preferred

  • Lean, 5S and Six Sigma certification highly desired
