Performs repetitive bench or line assembly operations to mass-produce automotive steering columns and/or sub-assemblies following written and/or verbal specifications by performing the following duties:
Responsibilities
Follows written process and process related work instructions for which they have been trained and authorized to perform
Works in line or areas, where tasks vary as part moves along line, assembling specific parts and passing unit to another Team Member
Works at different stations as production needs require or shifts from one process to another to maintain line efficiency and reduce fatigue factor
Loads and unloads previously setup machines such as automated assembly machines, hand assembly tables, forming machines, plastic injection, machining centers, boring machines, lathes, hydraulic presses, riveters, u-joint machines, rotary welders, robotic welders or inspection tables to perform fastening, force fitting, welding, piercing, machining or metal working operations on assembly line
Performs product quality checks and records results per quality system documents
Performs process changeovers using changeover S.O.I's
Performs process adjustments to assure conformance of product to established standards
Performs rework of product to established instructions and standards
Performs setup of equipment
Performs appropriate housekeeping and preventive maintenance as assigned
Examines material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits and incomplete welds
Compares product with parts list sample model to ensure completion of assembly
Verifies specified dimensions of product or material
Rejects defective parts, and marks type of defective on part, container of parts, or inspection tag
Replenish consumed components and sub-assemblies for the assigned area
Adheres to all Health and Safety guidelines as well as all other NSK policies
Qualifications
-High School Diploma or General Education Degree required. 1+ years of manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
-To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
-Candidates must have good Reasoning Ability, Language Skills and Mathematically skills.
-While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand 8-12 hours a shift. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, hand, or feel; and talk to hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and reach with arms and hands. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbs and occasionally lift/or move up to 40lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
