The human resource generalist handles and provides support for various HR employee programs within the organization.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assists with preparation and/or maintenance of employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software (Ultipro, Timberline, Viewpoint, etc).

  2. Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers; writes and places advertisements using UltiPro Recruiting, networking, job fairs, employee referrals, and recruiting firms; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations and processes hiring related paperwork and 401(k) information. This includes pre-employment physicals and drug screens.

  3. Serves as a liaison between satellite office field crews and home office support staff (benefits, payroll, etc) and provides employee relations support as needed.

  4. Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.

  5. Communicates employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns to Human Resources Manager

  6. Maintains current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

  7. Assists with maintenance of update human resources documents, such as organizational charts, employee handbooks or directories, or performance evaluation forms.

  8. Confers with management to develop or implement personnel policies or procedures.

  9. Conducts exit interviews and ensure that necessary employment termination paperwork is completed.

  10. Provide management with information or training related to interviewing, performance appraisals, counseling techniques, or documentation of performance issues.

  11. Analyze employment-related data and prepare required reports.

  12. Schedule pre-employment physicals and drug screens for current or prospective employees.

  13. Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:


This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.



EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:



  1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field; or 2+ years of Human Resources related experience required

  2. HR certification preferred (PHR, SHRM-CP), not required




Reasoning Ability:


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
