The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Leading troubleshooting, repair and fabrication for a diverse mix of equipment, components and systems.


• Implementing repairs across many types of equipment including but not limited to vacuum, hydraulic, chemical feed, centrifugal, gear and vane pumps as well as calibration and repair of process control instrumentation, vision systems and sensors and solve complex electrical systems and design problems.


• Determining and sharing recommendations for best practice.


• Supporting engineering and operations in the design, coordination and implementation of projects related to new equipment and modification of existing equipment and processes.


• Create predictive maintenance planning by driving detailed accounting of work following the maintenance work management process, which includes utilizing maintenance management software to identify and document equipment problems and associated repair and recommendations for improvement, obtain parts, track personal labor hours and material on jobs, capture repair history, etc.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution. (completed and verified prior to start)


• Minimum three (3) years of Maintenance Mechanics or Systems Technology Experience in a private, public, government, or military environment


• Position requires work, on overtime, weekends and holidays as needed

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Associate degree or higher in Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics or Robotics and Automation, or Engineering Technology.


• Minimum five (5) years of Maintenance Mechanics or Systems Technology Experience in a private, public, government, or military environment


• Experience with reliability analysis, predictive (PdM), and preventative maintenance (PM)


• Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings


• Possess excellent documentation skills


• Excellent technical communication skills, both written and oral to a diverse audience.

Starting salary for maintenance roles at this location is & $35.67/hour.

$1,000.00 Referral and Retention bonus for new hires and referring 3M employees.  Must meet eligibility criteria.
