Quality Control Lab Technician
$500 Retention Bonus


Summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is currently seeking a Quality Control Lab Technician for our 530 N 2nd St, Cambridge, OH location. This is a fast-paced, entry level position which requires the ability to multi-task. After training you will be expected to understand technical knowledge regarding chemicals, safety, data entry and a variety of data programs, as well as being able to detect variations in color, quality, density and consistency in finished goods. Being able to stand on your feet for long periods of time and be physically present for the position are required. This position comes with a comprehensive benefits package. Must be able/willing to work varying shifts to include nights and weekends.


Required Education and Experience


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)

  • Trainable, willing to train the right candidate

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Must be willing / flexible to work a variety of shifts, occasional overtime, and including weekends.

  • Must be able to work around and in direct contact with all chemicals used to successfully test for quality paintline finished work

  • Must also have some computer / data entry experience, as accurate recording of testing is required for the position, will train.

  • Must be able to properly dispose of scrap and avoid excessive disposal

  • Must communicate with supervisors, co-workers, quality leader, and technical representatives

  • Must gather samples of all coil products entering / departing the paintline.

  • Must perform testing of samples such as cutting, T-bend testing, color test, DJH test, rub test, impact test, pencil test

  • Must perform daily data entry

  • Must disseminate data to appropriate locations and supervisor

  • Must monitor the quality of the finished product from a continuous paintline

  • Must participate in team meetings and trainings

  • Must clean and set up the chemical coater

  • Must be able to lift various amounts of metal and transport safely to testing locations

  • Serve as a positive role model consistent with Cornerstone's Mission, Vision, and Core
