Job Description:

I. PURPOSE OF JOB:


The Meetings and Events Manager, with the support of the Marketing teams, effectively owns the management and production of commercial meetings and is the primary contact for third party agencies required to manage and support events and meetings.


 


II. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Manage commercial meetings supporting the commercial team with logistics, planning and execution.

  • Manage and support smaller (Tier 1-2) industry convention/trade show schedules and needs across both Surgical and Dry Eye businesses.

  • Manage and support larger (Tier 3-4) industry conventions/trade show schedules and needs across both Surgical and Dry Eye business including being the primary point of contact for third-party convention support agencies.

  • Performance manage and lead Meeting and Events Associates.

 


III. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Attend relevant industry convention/trade shows, symposia, physician training programs, conferences, and scientific meetings to gain voice of customer and market insights for strategic plan.

  • Develop and manage product budget related to major responsibilities.

  • Identify, build and manage relationships with key physicians, distributors, clinical investigators, and potential customers.

  • Collaborate with the Sales, Research and Development, Manufacturing, and Regulatory Affairs functions to refine sales and marketing strategy from product inception to product launch.

  • Maintain superior knowledge of competitive technologies in addition to medical, technical, and biomedical developments related to Sight Sciences’ products

  • Maintain a professional and credible image with key physicians, distributors, consultants, vendors, and co-workers.

  • Actively work to promote the Sight Sciences culture focused on team building and morale within the commercial operations department.

 


IV. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS



  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or life sciences or equivalent experience required.  MBA or master’s degree in management is a plus. 

 


V. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS



  • Minimum two to five years related experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical or bio-medical industry.  Previous sales, sales marketing or project management experience preferred.

 


VI. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:  



  • Thorough working knowledge of the industry is required.

  • Strong project management and time management skills required.

  • Ability to exercise sound decision-making and good judgment consistent with a senior level position.
