E-Commerce Product Director

The Celebrity Cruises Digital eCommerce team is looking for an experienced Digital Product leader to form and lead the team responsible for defining the vision for the end-to-end guest experience, product strategy and functionally execute the development of the digital global platform for the brand.

The Director will lead several Sr Managers/Managers and their teams, in close collaboration with business stakeholders from across the corporation, to define the vision for the entire end-to-end User and/or Guest experience, across all digital touch points, for their area of Global eCommerce Products. In addition, this leader and her/his teams will be accountable for the successful launch of all Global eCommerce Products in their portfolio from ideation through implementation, as well as ongoing optimization.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding and proven track record of product management and user experience design with respect to Web, mobile, Web engineering, as well as the ability to provide broad influential leadership towards the development of User-centric experiences. The ideal candidate will also have an eye toward the rapidly evolving digital landscape and provide leadership over advanced and emerging concepts, new trends in retail, eCommerce and front end and back-end optimization technologies in product development, to help both educate leaders across the company, as well as inform our forward-looking roadmap.

The Director will be responsible for ensuring teams adhere to (and/or aid in the creation of) the development and consistent application of product design principles, oversee the creation of enterprise-wide user experience and visual design systems, patterns and libraries and the creation of shared code libraries to ensure efficient and scalable product development. The Director must be able to work with multiple product and project teams simultaneously, thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and connect unexpected threads across disparate delivery teams.

The role will provide direct leadership over the product Sr Managers/Managers and lead an overall team of 5-20 employees, contractors, freelancers and vendors as digital products and initiatives are ideated, designed, developed and executed. This leader requires the ability to direct and develop teams that ideate and deliver high quality Global eCommerce Products for our Guests by both fostering and demonstrating a culture of data-driven and end-user focused product think, design, and engineering and innovation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1.eCommerce strategy : Provides leadership over the strategic direction of Global eCommerce Products, across all touch points, including strategy, product roadmap, product design, front-end technical development, launch and ongoing optimization. Partner and collaborate closely with stakeholders from the various departments across the corporation to understand how to adapt and evolve the strategy of our Global eCommerce Products based on key drivers (cost savings, revenue generation, increased direct share, etc.)

2.Product definition : Leads the team(s) responsible for the development of the vision and definition of Global eCommerce Products by connecting multiple complex guest touch points (e.g., research, feedback, etc.), technology strategy, business drivers and business value, with a user-first focus.Provide direct leadership to ensure product specifications that are created enable a desirable, feasible and viable product for the relevant end-user. In addition, the Director must foster a highly collaborative team, where cross-discipline dynamic communication is paramount to the successful delivery of the product.

3.Product delivery : The Director is ultimately accountable for the products that are created and developed within her/his area of Global eCommerce, and is responsible for the on-time, on-budget and on-strategy delivery of products and projects through careful prioritization and review Product standards:

Product standards: Leads the team(s) in setting digital principles, standards, and practices (across product definition, product design and product engineering) and is responsible for a) ensuring that all delivery teams within her/his area, apply those practices to their various work products and b) continually aid in the active validation and evolution of those practices.

5. Product roadmap : Leads the team(s) responsible for the development of the overall product roadmap for her/his area of product in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders and collaborates with other product leadership to develop the overall product roadmap for all products. Advocates for and secures the appropriate level of funding necessary to meet the rapid adoption by our guests.

6. Personnel management: Responsible for all aspects of personnel management (e.g., hiring, training, mentoring, coaching and development, etc.) of her/his direct reports and overall team, to nurture a high-performance team, maintain turnover low and develop succession leaders in the product area

Job Requirements Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

•Minimum 10 years in a Global eCommerce Product, design and/or engineering senior leadership role.

•Bachelor's degree required, with a MS/MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.

•Significant and demonstrable experience in leading teams/organizations in bringing high quality Global eCommerce Products to market.

•The ideal candidate will possess a combination of strategy and execution skills at a corporate level.

•Present your portfolio (work samples) with your resume to be considered for this position.

•This role requires that the candidate have a proven track record of leading large teams through ideation, design, and delivery of complex Guest-facing products.

Product & Delivery Depth :

•Deep knowledge and extensive track record in leading teams in the development of Web solutions, with a deep understanding of how to get consumer-centric solutions to market with a high degree of success.

•Deep knowledge of digital technologies, with an eye toward the continual change in consumer technology, including but not limited to artificial intelligence, omnichannel journeys, loyalty platforms, search, cross device navigation, sms, push notifications, and voice search, among others.

•Experience leading product, design and engineering teams through a software development lifecycle that leverages agile principles, yet recognizes constraints necessary in an environment that has both antiquated systems and a construction lifecycle with a long lead time.

•Ability to effectively provide overall leadership across a large and diverse delivery system, that spans product definition, design and engineering across front-end UI, services and back-end systems.

•Exceptional verbal and written communication and project/program leadership skills, including the ability to communicate effectively at senior executive levels and with highly technical and specialized resources.

Key Relationships :

•Work with multiple product and project teams including Product Owners, Engineering, Design and Delivery to bring product to life and to market.

Financial Responsibilities :

•Creates and manages budget for own operating group and programs/projects under their supervision.

•Effectively builds business cases to obtain funding for proof of concepts, new technology products, and capital acquisition requests.

•Solid understanding of accounting rules for expense and capital activities.

•Ensures efficient utilization of staff and non-labor resources.

•Accountable for financial implications and cost of systems and services.

•Responsible for defining optimization opportunities to manage expenses.
