Recovery Claim Specialist at Chubb

Responsibilities:

·        Manage inventory of first party referrals in Property lines of business for recovery and litigation. 

·        Promptly conduct and/or direct investigation of all aspects of the recovery claim.

·        Collaborate with and direct counsel when appropriate to increase efficiencies and maximize recoveries. 

·        Responsible for the investigation, evaluation, and disposition of Subrogation claims assigned to counsel. Monitor counsel files and foster negotiations and settlement of claims within granted authority.  

·        Formulate litigation and recovery strategies with counsel and collaborate consistently throughout the subrogation process.

·        Maintain an active and well documented diary as well as a favorable and productive file inventory in multiple claim systems. 

·        Efficiently utilize the Litigation Management Program to control the subrogation litigation inventory. 

·        Independent handling of routine and complex cases under general direction with established policies, procedures, financial autonomy and precedents.

·        Effectively control the use, quality and expense of outside vendors and develop techniques to increase efficiencies of litigation in your cases and to limit expense costs without impacting optimal case results.  

·        Adhere to all statutory and Unfair Claims Practice Acts.

·        Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all external and internal customers.   

·        Effectively manage and handle cases from inception through settlement or litigation to maximize recoveries in the shortest period of time

·        Provide exceptional customer experience to our agents and policy holders 

·        Maintain a reporting system to track recovery dollars and expenses.

·        Identify cases to move to Interco Arbitration Forums and effectively write contentions with strong arguments when filing Arbitrations.

 

·        Attitude/ Initiative- ethical, optimistic, adaptable, analytical, problem solver and patient.

·        Possess the ability to analyze recovery potential within multiple lines of business and recognize the legal elements needed to support a case, including burdens of proof, statute expirations and jurisdictional statutes.

·        Demonstrated ability in investigation, litigation management, cost & financial control, highly refined negotiation skills, and case management consistent with Recovery Best Practice requirements.   

·        Skills to approach cases analytically to arrive at solutions and develop case strategies alongside counsel

·        Demonstrated knowledge and attention to detail in multiple lines of insurance adjustments, insurance contracts, and coverage, in investigation claims and applying applicable laws

·        Excellent Time Management Skills to effectively manage a significant caseload, direct handling and resolve litigation involving multiple plaintiffs and/or defendants.

·        Skills to analyze cause of loss issues and make prompt, sound decisions within autonomy granted. Possess the ability to conduct and direct investigative activities including the management

         of internal and external investigative sources. 

·        Analyze the available resolution options on files and directly negotiate the cases to a settlement conclusion.  Candidates must have proven investigative skills with a proven ability to identify and gather relevant evidence. 

·        Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, clear, and precise documentation, time management focus on priorities, thoroughness, and follow up to manage own case inventory

·        Exceptional oral, written and communication skills are required. Able to deliver clear, concise and be proactive when necessary.

·        Possess the analytical and verbal skills both to formulate and execute a negotiation strategy.

·        Prior experience in handling mediations to successful conclusion.

·        Prior experience in analyzing contracts and legal documents.

·        Prior liability experience is a must

·        Strong utilization of phone for negotiations in order to bring file toward resolution

·        Excellent customer service skills.  How to be effective, be responsive and compassionate in your communication style with clients and other contacts. Understands customer’s needs( internally and externally) and delivers quality service.

Education: 

A college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
