Job Description

The Kimberly-Clark Professional (“KCP”) Strategic Communications Business Partner will possess a strong understanding of organizational/business areas and develop communications strategies and initiatives to achieve business goals.

Position Purpose:

Provide strategic communication that supports leadership and employee engagement objectives for KCP North America, the largest business unit within K-C’s global professional portfolio. Deliver integrated communication program that drive employee understanding and alignment to businesses priorities (e.g., Internal: annual priorities, strategic business plan, enterprise initiatives, change agendas; External: industry relations, media relations, social media). Builds employee pride and act as a culture champion.

Principle Accountabilities:


  • Provides communications counsel/support to the KCP North America president and members of his/her leadership team to ensure priorities and messaging are aligned and articulated in a manner consistent with overall company strategy and goals.


  • Sets the high-level content and channel strategy on key enterprise communications platforms and channels, including Town Halls, leader email communications, intranets, internal/external social communities, media/trade/partner communications, key customer-meetings, market visits, etc.


  • Acts as the internal/external communications lead for functional crisis response.


  • Works collaboratively with peers and functional partners at the Kimberly-Clark enterprise level to ensure consistency of messaging across various audiences and channels.


  • Develops best-in-class processes and protocols for all communications and provides tools, channels and programs that establish a strong communications vehicle for managers and leaders.


  • Proactively imports external best practices and ideas and serves as catalyst to drive company and cultural transformation aligned to business objectives.


  • Gathers employee sentiment analysis to help senior leaders understand team members’ perspective on company direction, strategy, and culture.


  • Assists in the development of external thought leadership and executive speaking programs.


Qualifications:


  • This position requires 7-10 years of experience in business, communications and/or marketing. Finance/operations experience a plus.


  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required.


  • Strong executive presence and ability to work closely with senior leaders as a strategic thought partner and advisor.


  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and proactively in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment; you are a thinker and problem-solver who can make smart decisions without having all the answers.


  • Agile, highly-motivated, goal and results-oriented, with ability to respond quickly and meet deadlines.


  • Strong verbal communications skills, including giving presentations. Must be able to influence others.


  • Proven writing and editing skills, analytical skills and creative experience necessary to address targeted messages to a variety of audiences; fluent in digital/social communication strategies, including existing and emerging platforms.


  • Experience driving proactive external communications (media relations, industry relations, thought leadership, etc.).


  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with internal partners including Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience, Legal, Supply Chain, and others.


  • Proven ability to transform complex concepts into simple communications that can be easily grasped by a diverse audience. He/she should be able to demonstrate the ability to craft communications plans, including conducting needs assessments, identifying and analyzing stakeholders and audiences, drafting key messages, strategies and action plans, and managing implementation and internal and external resources.


  • The incumbent must be able to effectively demonstrate our One K-C Behaviors. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage many projects at once are fundamental requirements. Effective listening skills, with flexibility in approach to solutions, and excellent client management skills are also critical. 


  • Creative platform experience a plus (Photoshop, InDesign, Video Shooting/Editing, etc.).

This role is available for local candidates already authorized to work in the role’s country only. K-C will not provide relocation support for this role.
