Job Brief


The Desktop Technician will focus on tracking, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution of hardware and software issues as reported by system users and administrators.

Reporting to the Associate Director, IT within Information Technology, the Desktop Technician will focus on tracking, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution of hardware and software issues as reported by system users and administrators. This individual will have frequent contact with all levels of computer users within the organization and is responsible for providing positive customer service on a functional level and to ultimately drive each reported issue to completion and total resolution.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Installs and configures workstations and laptops, hard drive encryption, etc.

  • Researches and test Enterprise Software with OS, critical updates, and service packs for compatibility issues.

  • Research and support various software issues for desktop and laptop configuration.

  • Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems.

  • Responds to telephone calls and emails from technical support. Tracks and monitors the problem to insure a timely resolution.

  • Ability to be self-motivated and directed, to effectively prioritize and execute task in a high-pressure environment.

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with a strong customer service focus.

  • Ability to lift and transport heavy to moderately heavy objects, such computers and peripherals.

  • Maintain Asset Management Tracking

  • Participates on new and on-going Systems and Network Administration related projects.



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Experience with desktop setup, configuration, and support

  • Experience with Windows 10 and Microsoft applications

  • A+, Net+ or MCSE certifications preferred.

  • Participates on new and on-going Systems and Network Administration related projects.

  • Must possess excellent technical knowledge of desktop hardware, laptops and wireless configurations for both desktops and laptops.

  • Experience with of networks, servers, and Active Directory
