Senior Manager - Valuation Services at American Institute of Certified Public Accountants

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:


  • Lead efforts to develop a strategic and tactical plan for offering and delivering the credential and exams internationally by managing the Credential committee and related task forces while also collaborating with internal and strategic partners to raise its profile and drive membership growth, retention and revenue acquisition. Ensure committee activities are aligned with AICPA/Association and discipline mission and goals. (30%)

  • Collaborate with global and domestic business partners to provide strategic direction and development of relationships, programs, education, resources and tactics to drive product revenue and ensure continued competency and relevance for the valuation discipline, the ABV credential and the AICPA/Association while ensuring effectiveness and quality of all offerings. (30%)

  • Enhance and strengthen valuation discipline’s strategy and tactics in connection with external relationships with international bodies, state societies, Accounting and Valuation/Consulting firms firms, universities, nationally recognized professionals, regulatory bodies and others, as needed, to increase awareness of the ABV credential (10%)

  • Serve as the subject matter expert, both internally and externally, for valuation discipline, including providing responses to inquiries, including media, technical questions, practice development questions, product development and regulatory issues (10%)

  • Monitor legislative, regulatory and industry landscape for news and developments impacting advocacy for members and support AICPA/Association or discipline response efforts (10%)

  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including MMx, Finance, Web, Media, Communications, Multimedia, Graphic Design, RAVE, Legal, Business Development, Engagement & learning Innovation and others to drive membership growth, retention and revenue acquisition. (10%)

  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately in a way that is easily understood, regardless of the medium; adjusting style and content to appeal to the specific needs and comprehension level of the audience

  • Solid understanding of the valuation landscape, practices and procedures

  • Ability to think strategically

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external subject matter experts and influence decision-making where appropriate

  • Ability to develop high quality and timely resources under tight deadlines

  • Skilled in managing cross-functional groups including promotion of collaboration, innovation, and excellence

  • Strong negotiation and consensus building skills along with awareness of appropriate escalation procedures

  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills as well as interpersonal skills

  • Ability to successfully multi-task and manage priorities

  • Ability to think creatively to provide solutions to obstacles or roadblocks

  • Strong target acquisition and retention skills

  • Availability for travel as needed
