Job Description:

Job Description

The Broad Institute is an amazing place - we exist to apply our deep knowledge of human genetics to empower a revolution in biomedicine and accelerate the pace at which the world conquers disease.

Broad Institute researchers generate on the order of 20 terabytes (roughly equivalent to more than 6.6 billion tweets or 3,300 high definition feature-length movies) of sequence data every day. This vast trove of information holds knowledge that could fundamentally transform our understanding of human biology, health, and disease. Generating insights that will lead to breakthroughs requires that those data and the tools we build to study them be stored, curated, analyzed, updated, and shared rapidly, efficiently, openly, accurately, and broadly - this is the critical role that our computer scientists, software engineers, informaticians, mathematicians, and others who make up the Broad Institute's data science community play.

We are looking for a seasoned Data Science Recruiter to join our Recruiting team who understands that the most important thing that will lead to these breakthroughs in human biology, health, and disease is our people.

You're a Thought Leader: You are an analytical thinker who is skilled at leveraging data and market insights to tell a story and drive a recruiting strategy. You approach recruiting using both quantitative and qualitative data.

You're an Advisor: You partner with hiring leaders and teams to deeply understand their objectives and corresponding hiring needs. You challenge your leaders on scale and scope of role. You ask them to consider different organizational models when the original isn't working. You communicate frequently, ask for input, and pivot as needed. You easily operate in an ambiguous environment, and when a hiring leader comes to you with a role that is outside of the box, you know how to put the pieces together and find them the best candidates.

You're a Technical Expert. You have built and consistently maintain a strong macro (industry level) and micro (role-specific level) knowledge to build credibility and strengthen your ability to serve as a trusted recruitment partner. You really know where the best talent in the data science community lives, and you know how to recruit them.

You're a storyteller: You know how to talk about organizational structure, culture, success stories, and future road map of the groups you're recruiting for. These customized stories help candidates discover the rich and fulfilling experiences that Broad has to offer.

  • You provide white-glove service for your hiring leaders and share best practices on writing job descriptions, interviewing, debriefs, assessment tools, etc.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of recruitment experience with an emphasis on technical recruiting. i.e Software Engineering, Computational Biology, Machine Learning, Data Science
