Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Infrastructure Assurance & Analysis (IAA) group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in a technical career as a ICS and IT Cyber Professional.

In these roles, we get to select, apply, and integrate engineering principles, theories, concepts, and technologies to complex industrial control systems (ICS) - it's an exciting time to join INL, and we'd love to have you on our team!

Responsibilities Include:


  • Provide technical direction, foster new concept development, and provide technical collaboration with numerous internal and external customers.

  • Work with program management to recommend and implement advanced instructional methods which include virtual learning and dynamic simulation-based environments.

  • Recommend and develop advanced training based on cybersecurity (IT/OT) applicable threat scenarios, data analysis, and communications and complex network management systems.

  • Perform as an instructor in both on-site and off-site cybersecurity training activities.

  • Proactively stay abreast of developments in industry and maintain skills that contribute to the identification and development of new divisional capabilities and products.

  • Assist in preparing technical proposals and conducting negotiations with potential partners to develop advanced cybersecurity threat analysis and protection methodologies.

  • Coordinate with other IAA Division and N&HS Directorate staff in the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of the cybersecurity advance training software and/or apparatus to include the Control Systems Analysis Center (CSAC), Cybersecurity Evaluation Laboratory and Range (CELR), and other locations on, and off of INL property.

Minimum Requirements:


  • Baccalaureate & 8 years or Advanced Degree & 6 years' proven experience.

  • Must be a US Citizen, and able to obtain/maintain a DOE "Q" clearance and other special accesses as required.

Preferred Requirements:


  • Cybersecurity IT/ICS/SCADA/Process Control system design and experimentation, control system protocols, process control software, data communications, network security/protocols, wireless instrumentation/security, software engineering, graphical user interfaces, experimental setup and testing, sensors, modeling and simulation.

  • Prefer experience working with DoD cyber-forces and CyberCommand.
