Department: Kaizen Promotion Office

Hours: 8:00a - 4:30p


In this Project Coordinator position, you will have the opportunity to work with our Kaizen Promotion Office to coordinate and promote the efficient, effective technical operations of organizational projects. Work with leadership to ensure project objectives are achieved through effective definition, planning, implementation, and transition of work. Participate on project teams when assembled, coordinate project plans and perform project tasks as assigned. You will have the opportunity to work remotely part of the time.


  • Assist with the development and provide hands-on management of project plans, including objectives, timelines and dependencies, work plans, milestones, resource requirements and tracking mechanisms.

  • Perform project tasks as assigned.

  • Facilitate communication between project leadership, team members and customers. Communicate project progress and findings to project leadership, including the sponsor, as appropriate.

  • Maintain central documentation (hard copy and electronic) of assigned projects.

  • Collaborate with other VMMC project management personnel to improve on planning and implementation practices, tools, and supportive strategies (e.g., training programs) to support the organization's development of its performance improvement capabilities.

Qualifications:


  • Two years' project coordination experience.

  • Demonstrated excellent facilitation, communication and organizational skills also required.

  • Must be a self-starter with attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to adhere to project specifications and timelines.

  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience with MS Project is preferred; willingness to learn MS Project or another Virginia Mason designated project software is required.



An Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred. Formal training in project management concepts and methods.
