Kleinschmidt has a full-time opening for a Recreation & Environmental Specialist in the Pacific Northwest (our office locations in Portland, Oregon; Vancouver, Washington; or Redmond, Washington would be considered). Who You Are
A recreation professional with a bachelor's degree in Outdoor Recreation, Environmental Science, Resource Economics, or similar discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience. Demonstrated experience in recreation study design, implementation, and technical report writing is required.
Knowledgeable: Knowledge and/or experience in projects involving engineering, permitting, and recreation or environmental disciplines to address and resolve issues. Knowledge of state and federal regulatory processes and hydropower regulations and licensing/compliance issues. Familiarity with project management concepts, developing and updating recreation management plans is preferred. High-level proficiency with statistical software applications such as SPSS or RecPro is required. Familiarity with ArcGIS is a plus.
Relationship-focused: Ability to successfully lead a team of field technicians across regions and communicate assignments of tasks to other staff as necessary. The candidate must be able to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
Exceptional Organizational and Communication Skills: Experience with managing consultations and delivering presentations. Demonstrated history of effective self-organizational skills/time management, management of projects or tasks within scope, schedule, and budget. The candidate must have effective oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is a plus.

About the Position
This position will serve in a project specialist role and can expect to spend approximately 30% of their time in the field and 70% in the office.
