The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As an Activation Marketer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Build a strong relationship with the sales and commercial teams to deliver programs/promotions/new product materials to field sales that align with global strategy

  • Create and execute the marketing activation plan and calendar for strategic business segment with core portfolios

  • Drive demand generation locally by identifying opportunities and needs to leverage local social media/media/key platforms for communications, End-user communications, sales enablement, conferences and promotional efforts. 

  • Work with general channel partners, distribution, local specific channel partner engagement/execution of through channel marketing plans

  • Support product introduction, NPI voice of market, ideas, local needs, participate on global NPI team/with area new product marketers

  • Interface with technical service, professional services and specialists on technical, whitepapers, customer testimonials and ensuring meets customer requirements and US regulations

  • Liaison to the local functions like channel marketing, division teams, customer service, sales force, application engineering, medical education, strategic medical partnerships, portfolio marketing regulatory to represent market and customer

  • Expert in customer needs, trends and competition, identifying opportunities to drive end-to-end activation in priority segments. Responsible for collecting, synthesizing, and sharing market insights for more efficient activation decisions. Provides relevant insights and input into area and global

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Two (2) years of marketing, sales, or business development experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • MBA or Master’s Degree preferred

  • Health Care experience preferred

  • Experience in marketing disciplines (digital marketing, price, CRM, portfolio, end-user, channel, communication)

  • Experience leading cross functional teams, including project management

  • Previous experience interacting with a field sales team

  • Experience with senior level presentations

  • Demonstrated success with cross functional teams to create winning customer solutions

  • Independent and strategic thinker able to make solid business decisions

  • Strong analytical skills, strong critical thinking skills, and ability to interpret various data, drive to decisions

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to prioritize work independently and manage programs

  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) with an ability to clearly convey complex information to diverse audiences

  • Experience identifying and understanding customer pain points and translating into marketing activation plans

Location: Maplewood, MN or San Antonio, TX or Remote

Travel: May include up to 40% domestic

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
