Position Title: Field Operations Technician - 4N


 


Position Summary:


The Field Operations Technician is responsible for maintenance, lighting, upkeep, and equipment installation, for Crown Castle's most established type of communications infrastructure and most reliable way to deliver critical wireless coverage, Towers. You will maintain Tower sites, lighting, and equipment as well as network integrity and quality through preventative and remedial maintenance. You will document asset data and conduct audits to align with Company and regulatory policies.


 


Responsibilities:



  • Ensure structural integrity and regulatory compliance for all assigned assets.

  • Perform periodic inspections in accordance with company policies, standards and procedures. Identify and ensure that major inspection discrepancies are reported to management, corrected in a timely manner and that the field data they collect is entered into Crown Castle’s systems.

  • Collect physical asset data in an efficient and cost-effective manner and follow standards related to getting this data into the database. Review data associated with assigned sites on a regular basis and report errors or discrepancies to management.

  • Work effectively cross-functionally to identify and resolve compliance issues. Respond quickly and effectively to resolve NOTAM, monitoring system and network performance issues in accordance with company established policies, standards and procedures.

  • Comply with and perform quality assurance programs as required.

  • Keep Tower Operations Manager well informed regarding operational and maintenance issues associated with their assigned sites. Maintain and communicate a site problem list within trouble ticketing system including the resolution plans for each.

  • Maintain documentation and maintenance records for each assigned facility.

  • Monitor and report material usage in order to maintain adequate truck supplies.

  • Provide immediate support service during emergency issues and incident response situations.

Education/Certifications/Licensure:



  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Associates degree, two-year technical degree or equivalent experience/training strongly preferred

  • A valid driver’s license required

 


Experience/Minimum Requirements:



  • Two (2)+ years of experience working with radio transmitters, receivers, antennas, electronic theory, power and applications required

  • Knowledge of wireless/telecommunications technologies and platforms

  • Computer support, power experience and troubleshooting

  • Prior maintenance/mechanical experience

  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively

  • Ability to manage work and prioritize effectively


  • Crown Castle is a federal contractor and the COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement of employment by your start date to comply with Executive Order 14042.  

 


Working Conditions: Works in the field with exposure to RF emissions, construction materials, noise, and wastes.  Physical demands of lifting to 60 pounds, stooping, and climbing ladders. Travel required.
