Assistant Center Director - New Hyde Park at Harbor Child Care

Job Description:

The Assistant Director will provide support to the Center Director in the day-to-day operations of the center. Under the supervision of the Center Director, the Assist Director shall be responsible for working within the framework of Harbor Child Care, carrying out its functions, policies, and procedures that include, but are not limited to:

Business Operations

Classroom


  1. Acts as classroom teacher to provide coverage as needed

  2. Assists Center Director in determining appropriate staffing during afternoon hours and fills in when needed.

  3. Opens or closes center in absence of Center Director

  4. Creates call chains for classrooms, staff and parents

  5. Creates sign in sheets via pro-care

  6. Monitors children’s absences

  7. Sends out letters for program families

Reception and enrollment 

Talent Acquisition

Recordkeeping

High School Diploma AND two years direct experience working with children less than 13 years of age.

• Previous day care management experience required.

• Associates degree or BA in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel required; knowledge of DSS and Procare a plus.




Salary: $12.00
