Job Description:

 Summary:

This position provides Facilities project planning and interior design expertise along with space planning and management of associated projects for all Lifetime Healthcare Companies offices and subsidiaries to include initial programming and defining project scope, developing project plans, schedules and cost estimates, producing design plans and renovation drawings, assembling and chairing project team meetings to ensure the successful completion of relocations and renovation projects.  The position coordinates sourcing requirements, including bid specifications and vendor qualification with Procurement & Sourcing Services and Vendor Relations to identify, source, and acquire furniture for office space and office reconfiguration projects. This position advises on policies about furniture standards, cube sizes, and all applicable governmental code and regulations.


 


 


 


 


 




  • Designs and develops strategic space plans for all offices; produces space planning drawings, including necessary construction or renovation for interior upgrades, advises on design improvements, and works with associated vendors to develop cost estimates.




  • Designs test fit plans to ensure appropriate uses of space and to demonstrate in 3D design what the potential area will look like and reconfigure as needed to accommodate customer needs.




  • Creates Interior Finish Plans to help create the finish look the customer desires.



 




  • Manages all phases of Facilities related projects ranging from single relocations to large / complex initiatives; responsible for initial programing / scope development; effectively interacts with all levels of staff, up to and including the executive level to develop and design appropriate space for their needs. Plans, prepares, implements approved projects.




  • Leads project team meetings of both internal team and external vendors coordinates all efforts, assigns and maintains accountability for project deliverables with respect to relocations and renovations while balancing the needs of the customers.




  • Responsible for effectively communicating throughout the project and at key milestones with project team, stakeholders and management regarding project status, models and encourages collaborative approach to resolving conflict and reaching project objectives.



 




  • Responsible for Developing Project estimates tracking /reporting on project spend vs budget.




  • Serves as a moves team member for all facilities and subsidiaries.



 




  • Assists in the hire of outside vendors to support projects, as needed. Ensures work is completed satisfactorily.



 




  • Administers and maintains space-planning guidelines in accordance with NYSCRR (New York State Code of Rules and Regulations) and corporate furniture design standards.



 




  • Coordinates with Director and Facility Managers on renovation projects regarding staff relocation.



 




  • Maintains and administers a furniture standards program. Develops and utilizes standard documentation for all space planning and project management processes.



 




  • Maintains cabinet inventories, upon request provides additional storage within the limitations dictated by fire codes, inventories, and budget.



 




  • Provides support and direction to the company’s ergonomic program and ensures consistent application of ergonomic standards in workstation and office standards.



 




  • Presents overall space plans professionally to senior level staff, outlines design conflicts and present possible solutions.



 




  • Coordinates delivery and installation of equipment and furniture.




  • Keep current with design space planning trends, and industry standards.

  • Maintains high regard for member privacy in accordance with the corporate privacy policies and procedures.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or relevant area with a minimum of three years’ experience in design and planning.  Master’s Degree preferred.  In lieu of degree, a minimum of five years of design and planning experience.



 




  • Must be highly skilled in the use of IWMS software, CAD, electronic spreadsheets, and work processing software.




  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite programs.




  • Understanding of the phases involved in relocations and construction projects (telecommunications, desktop, network, facilities, cabling, furniture).



 




  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.



 




  • Must be able to read and interpret schematics, construction documents, and similar drawings




  • Ability to create 3D designs and mock drawings to help provide options to customers.



 




  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence




  • Ability to adapt and change direction quickly based on customer requests, project priority changing, new requests, and other assignments that may need to take priority.



 




  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization in writing or verbally.



 




  • Must be able to interpret software-operating instructions




  • Must be able to work well under pressure, demonstrate excellent problem solving and creativity skills, and be able to quickly evaluate new information and make appropriate decisions.



 




  • Ability to add, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals



 




  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form




  • Demonstrated ability to work with teams, cross functionally and cross regionally.



 




  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations
