Supervisor of Payment Operations at Ent Credit Union

 Position Description:


This position is responsible for daily operations and the oversight of Payment Operations including supervision of staff and responsible to perform professional analysis for the Electronic Banking Operations management by analyzing data/reports from multiple sources. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, review and proof statistical output prepared for Executive monthly report packet, assess statistic reports for anomalies or opportunities, staff training, workflow, scheduling and job performance in accordance with Credit Union policies; oversight of daily operations of ATM & Card Services operations, Shared Branch processing, Bill Pay processing and support and partner credit card support. Additional responsibilities include assessment and review all EBO processes continually for efficiency and accuracy providing sound analysis, consultation, and recommendations for improvement.


This position may also provide back-up and cross-support to other EBO Management.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: 



  • Coordination and oversight of duty assignments within Payment Operations staff.

  • Provide leadership and mentoring through subject matter expertise and the provision of training and coaching for Payment

  • Operations staff, to include system testing and ongoing personal development and cross-training in other aspects of EBO.

  • Analyze data, reports, charts/graphs, and supporting / historical data using available systems (Symitar, ProfitStars, Vertifi,

  • Federal Reserve, various ATM/Card software). Serve as a technical expert for such systems. Develop reports / analyses in response to management requests. Identify and recommend format/process improvements.

  • Oversight of all GL reconciliations.

  • First line of member escalation for Payment Operations staff.

  • Maintain documentation of procedures, key events, and system revisions.


Minimum Formal Education Required for this Position:


High School Diploma or equivalent


Each year of relevant work experience may be exchanged for a year in a relevant degree program or vice versa. For example, a requirement of “Knowledge Consistent with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 2+ years’ of accounting experience” could be substituted for a High School Diploma and 6 years of relevant accounting work experience or a Master’s Degree in Accounting and 0 years of work experience


Minimum work experience:


6+ years’ financial institution experience to include:



  • 3+ years’ in electronic banking operations or related business units with at least 1 year in two different functional areas such as ATM Cards, Bill Pay, or other related experience

  • 2+ years’ Team Lead, Coordinator, or Supervisory experience

  • 1+ years’ systems administration, process/systems analysis, or business intelligence experience


Technical or specialized knowledge/skills:



  • Advanced technical, analytical, interpretive, and evaluative thinking skills with strong initiative in seeking out and furthering such knowledge.

  • Extensive knowledge of, and aptitude to understand and quickly master specialized processing software and hardware.

  • Strong working knowledge of Symitar, CRM, ATM/Card processing systems, Cash Advance Terminals, and Instant Issue software.

  • Understanding of card association, card processor, shared branch processor, VISA regulations and card networks, including card transaction data processing knowledge.

  • Basic understanding of ATM and ITM hardware and software functionality– Diebold and NCR.

  • Advanced knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Strong understanding of the complexity of the Federal Reserve Bank check, ACH, and Wire Transfer processes.

  • Strong understanding of the process flow of card and ATM transactions.

  • Strong aptitude in handling multiple, changing assignments/priorities.

  • Strong aptitude for mathematics, formulas, and functions relevant to the position.

  • Proficient in handling a high level of detail with absolute accuracy.

  • Strong initiative and ability to perform duties with minimal supervision and use of independent judgment.

  • Basic supervisory skills (diplomacy, delegation, leadership, conflict resolution, etc).

  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

  • Must be able to prepare, present and confidently explain data analysis; both written and verbally.

  • Strong public speaking qualities.

  • Must be proficient to assess, evaluate and analyze data from multiple sources, and to identify trends and anomalies.

  • Clear understanding of financial institution vernacular.

  • (Preferred) Basic aptitude in use of SQL.

Environmental, physical and psychological requirements: 


Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time in a climate controlled environment. Must be able to use fingers, hands, wrists for repetitive tasks such as typing, using a mouse, and operating a telephone.   Demands for visual and auditory acuity are typical of an office environment. Must be able to interact via email, telephone, or in person with diplomacy, tact, and courtesy with all members under varying circumstances. Must be able to handle stressful situations in a professional manner. Must be flexible with schedule to work overtime as needed based on demands of the membership. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.


Salary range for this position: $70,345.60 - $92,310.40 (S16) This position is eligible for an annual corporate bonus based upon performance
