Western is seeking an energetic sales leader to develop a dynamic network of business opportunities. As a Business Development Specialist, you will be responsible for driving business goals through strong, long-term business relationships with freight forwarders, importers, shippers and logistics professionals, food manufacturers, real estate, and residential owners among others.
The Business Development Specialist will develop and establish a known presence within the industries we support. The immediate focus will be on identifying creative sales opportunities to drive new sales revenue resources while providing ongoing support to established customers.
This includes case-by-case business opportunities and driving strong relationships through associations and trade shows. The ideal specialist will possess the ability to analyze business trends, identify sales opportunities, and drive direction for growth.
Collaboration and teamwork with Operational Management and Business Leadership are critical to success in this role. You must be able to articulate how you WILL increase business revenue and demonstrate a clear vision for the future success of the company.
The successful Business Development Specialist will:
Have a minimum of 5-7 years of business development experience in a service-based industry or organization
Be familiar with logistics and supply chain systems
Implement overall growth strategy in collaboration with the Director
Collaborate with Operational Management to ensure that company sales goals are identified and achieved
Own the relationship with the internal marketing team, to plan and lead marketing events, campaigns, and strategies
Prospect new business opportunities and generate new business accounts
Perform inspections & present proposals
Provide strategic focus and planning to develop new and retain existing business
Meet and exceed sales targets through continuous growth of new accounts and repeat orders
Demonstrate excellent communication and relationship building skills within all levels of the business
Execute exceptional follow through and organizational skills
Be technologically savvy; have Microsoft Office Suite and CRM (HubSpot) familiarity with service-based applications
Live within the general area/region & domestic travel regularly (including overnight) as needed (Anticipate 30-50%)
