Lakeview Center is best known for its caring, compassionate treatment for people with mental health issues, drug and alcohol dependencies, or intellectual disabilities. The breadth and depth of these services are the most comprehensive in the region. They range from inpatient and residential treatment to a gamut of outpatient programs including trauma services, psychiatry, counseling, day treatment, and intensive, round-the-clock outpatient services to help people with severe mental illnesses safely remain in the community. We reach people of all ages from babies and children to adolescents and adults. In all, we offer more than 60 programs and services for the people of Northwest Florida.

Overview:

The Peer Coordinator - Escambia County/ Santa Rosa/ Okaloosa/ Walton County functions as a member of a multidisciplinary team to provide peer support, advocacy, coaching, mentoring, behavior modeling, assistance, and guidance for clients. Promote positive and collaborative relations with team members and the community. Attend available training to increase skills specific to mental health and substance abuse populations. Actively participate and contribute in staff meetings, supervision, quality reviews, and monitoring activities. Maintain positive, timely, and effective communication with patients, families, team members, external and internal resource providers, referral sources, and community providers.

Qualifications:


  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.

  • Lived an experience in at least one of the following areas:

    • As an adult who has been in recovery for a minimum of two (2) years from a substance use or mental health condition.

    • As a family member or caregiver to another individual who has or is in recovery from substance use or mental health condition.

    • As a veteran of the armed forces who has been in recovery for a minimum of two (2) years from a substance use or mental health condition.



  • Preferred to have completed certified peer specialist training and/or be willing to complete as a condition of employment.

  • Must be able to use a computer.

  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside, a good driving record and be insurable under the corporate policy.
