About the Role

As the Telecommunication Network Engineer you will be primarily responsible for performing complex tasks under minimal supervision to support all end-user network connection related activities. You'll be expected to provide guidance and support Microcomputer Specialist technicians. You will provide daily support throughout the organization and to all of the various bank departments and lines of business.

What You Can Expect

With a high level of knowledge and attention to detail you will take on requests to troubleshoot issues in a wide range of areas including LAN/WAN connectivity, DNS and DHCP management and telecommunication. You will coordinate and complete new hardware installations, server set-up, and network deployments. Here you can expect no two days to be the same and there is no shortage of knowledge to be gained.

How You'll Spend Your Time

• You will utilize your technical knowledge to support and resolve complex problems encountered by our end users.

• You'll be expected to have a high attention to detail and be prepared to have full documentation of fixes.

• You'll spend time replacing, maintaining, and upgrading network equipment and servers.

• You'll be relied on for your knowledge of a variety of operating systems, software systems and hardware.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and/or equivalent technical training and a minimum of 5-7 years' experience with telecommunications equipment and services or 11-13 years related experience designing telecommunication systems.

• Advanced knowledge of wide range of hardware and analysis equipment, including PBXs, multiplexers, modems, CRTs, controllers, LAN/WAN equipment, protocol analyzers, meters, line monitors, Cisco VOIP, phone key systems etc.


• Advanced knowledge of telephone switches, a combination of Northern Telecom PBXs and other complex key telephone systems


• Excellent problem resolution skills; ability to make decisions based upon available information quickly


• Excellent analytical judgment when considering critical communication networks


• Ability to perform a wide variety of complex communication network functions


• Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
