Overview of the Deduction Supervisor

The Deduction Supervisor will directly supervise a team of Deduction Analysts and Retail Collection Specialists. The Deduction Supervisor is responsible for managing all billing, accounts receivable, credit management and collections management responsibilities for Retail customers. The individual will also be responsible for the quality of the work being completed and ensuring the team is meeting all KPIs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Supervise customer billing, deduction processing, cash receipts and collection activities


• Effectively supervise a significant portfolio of customer chargebacks by:
  
  
  
  • Oversee disputes and adjustments to make sure they are within acceptable guidelines;
  
  
  • Work to appeal and recover where appropriate; and
  
  
  • Identify opportunities to proactively adjust processes to diminish the impact and decrease the number of chargebacks
  
  
  
  


• Select, train, coach and develop staff to achieve department and personal goals


• Write and conduct annual performance reviews for analysts and specialists


• Support culture of delivering excellent customer service while maximizing financial KPIs


• Manages and ensures compliance with contractual obligations, billing and collection controls


• Verify and assess the quality of completed work and collection activity effectiveness


• Support other departments in the resolution of client disputes


• Ensures all KPIs are met including aging & quality


• Adhere to all control policies


• Resolve complex customer issues including systems and processes


• Prioritize billing reconciliations and collections focus within the team


• Work with Retail Sales Leadership and Front-Line Operations to resolve customer and process issues


• Provide reports and pertinent information to management


• Special projects assigned by Management

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred


• 3-5 Years experience in retail billing/collections preferred


• Advanced Excel skills


• Experience billing multiple billing types


• Effectively communicate both internally and externally


• Ability to learn and manage multiple systems, portals and customer interfaces


• Desire and ability to roll up sleeves and dig into problems and processes


• Ability to build relationships with Sales & Operations personnel


• Ability to collaborate across multiple business units


• Strong analytical skills


• Ability to identify systemic issues or process improvement opportunities from mistakes and problems


• Oracle or SAP experience preferred
