About The Position

The VHB legal team seeks to provide VHB employees with the highest quality legal services on a daily basis and to exceed expectations, in a caring, competent, convenient, cost effective and professional manner. As a Paralegal supporting VHB's attorneys, you will play an important role and will have the opportunity to develop strong relationships with our attorneys, business professionals and trusted advisors while also building substantive knowledge that adds critical value to VHB. This position will work in partnership with VHB's Assistant General Counsel on contract review and administration.

Responsibilities


  • Review contract documents with the ability to identify contractual risk issues and propose appropriate risk management solutions in accordance with company policies

  • Identify, understand, and interpret contractual insurance and indemnification requirements

  • Administer and maintain library of standard clauses for amending contracts

  • Assist in drafting/amending contracts

  • Research legal issues

  • Communicate efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Works effectively and independently in high-pressure team environment to manage multiple tasks in parallel to meet all deadlines

  • Commitment to documentation and using technology to improve processes

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to think critically and problem solve

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree plus Paralegal Certificate preferred

  • 3+ years of experience as contract administrator or paralegal (preferably in an Engineering/Architecture/Construction environment)

  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications (candidates will be tested to determine skill level for these programs)

  • JD prefered
