Purpose


As we continue to learn more about the selling and servicing (growth) cycles, we recognize a need for more expertise related to general data analytics and Salesforce.com data management.


Objective


The Sales Data Analyst will assist leaders by transforming data into actionable business insights. To be successful in this role, you must have a strong background in analytics and working knowledge of data visualization tools and the Salesforce.com platform. This position will often be responsible to address and solve for ad hoc/unstructured problems in a highly fast-paced environment requiring quick turnaround and partnership with key stakeholders across the company.


Essential Functions and Primary Duties



  • Mine marketing, client, pipeline and sales data to identify actionable patterns to attract, retain, cross-sell and grow our employee benefit revenue.

  • Data modelling and visualization concepts

  • Innovate, design, build and maintain performance management dashboards in Salesforce.com

  • Identify selling and retention patterns, cycles, trends, etc.

    • Distance to sales

    • Industy data

    • Competitor information

    • Frequency

  • Independently review, prepare, design and integrate complex (type, quality, volume) data, correcting problems and recommend data cleansing/quality solutions to issues.

  • Develop moderate data derivations and apply with complex business transformation rules and data requirements.

  • Determine and recommend data to include in analytical projects.

  • Create moderate (technology and features) data visualization techniques to help support data exploration.

  • Occasionally present data visualizations to help support data exploration

  • Support senior staff with analyzing information and creating financial deliverables* for current and prospective clients

  • Deliver advice about the financing of risk benefit programs, such as self-insurance, multinational risk benefits pooling, and employee benefit captive work

  • Support senior staff with the design, distribution, and evaluation of responses to surveys and RFPs

  • Support senior staff with projects such as benefit benchmarking, cost saving projects, and governance processes

  • Demonstrate strong underwriting knowledge including strategic approaches to health care cost management

  • Prepare and maintain reports to measure and monitor metrics

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned



*Financial deliverables include financial and contractual analysis, claims utilization analysis and modeling, renewal projection and premium rate analysis, and modeling.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in math, statistics, or finance


Minimum Qualifications



  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Up to 6 years of experience in benefit analysis for group employee benefits

  • Must have the ability to compile, analyze, present, interpret financial, and statistical information to facilitate decision making

  • Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise

  • Technical knowledge relative to industry and incorporating contract provisions, renewal and claims processing, plan knowledge, and carrier funding

  • Expertise in managing clients with alternative funding arrangements

  • Advanced skill in using computer application software for financial modeling, statistical analysis, and spreadsheet calculations

  • Expert knowledge of state and federal legislation

  • Sets priorities and manages work flow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate deliverables

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally

  • Advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
