Job Description:

Help us maintain our future. Get ready for a job that encourages you to think strategically yet stay connected with your teams. Do you have problem-solving or strategy experience? If so, prepare to innovate, create, and inspire. The Sr. Reliability Engineer (Automation Engineer Advisor) supports engineering and maintenance-related efforts designed to improve/optimize the reliability and maintainability of the pharmacy automation assets including equipment, assemblies/sub-assemblies, systems, processes, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite support for the local Site Service Team (mechanics/technicians, automation engineers) on an as-needed basis. Daily priority will be reliability focused; however, in cases where the local Site Service Team requests/requires additional support, the priority may temporarily shift.

  • Use knowledge of hands-on experiences coupled with machine/Bad Actor work order data to evaluate/analyze and root-cause machine (or system-related) failures, repairs, and defects.

  • Establish priority for assets/machine sets requiring attention, drivers for repetitive touches and self-induced failures (unplanned repairs), and drivers for repetitive part failures and high-usage replacements.

  • Develop/implement reliability-based solutions that can reduce the cost of maintenance while improving part/machine reliability, preventive maintenance strategy, corrective troubleshooting/mean-time-to-repair (MTTR), and defect/rework reduction.

  • For reliability-based investigations (or floor-based support), performs advanced levels of testing/troubleshooting on Automated Equipment PLC controls and systems.

  • Performs advanced levels of testing/troubleshooting on Automated Equipment by using/comprehending Electrical, Mechanical, and Pneumatic drawings and schematics, and using special test equipment and tools as available.

  • Develop/implement reliability-based solutions that can reduce the cost of maintenance while improving part/machine reliability, preventive maintenance strategy, corrective troubleshooting/mean-time-to-repair (MTTR), and defect/rework reduction.

  • As required, lead/participate in technical post mortems to confirm root-causes, and to help identify/implement lessons learned, corrective mitigation/prevention, or continuous improvement (CI) opportunities.

  • Support post-incident problem management activities for the Site to ensure proper closure of investigative/preventive commitments is met.

  • Prepare, lead/conduct a weekly Reliability Engineering meeting representing the Tempe Site to provide updates on reliability improvement activities at the Site, provide insights into other potential Bad Actor focal points to queue as the backlog for reliability, communicate needs for collaborative support, and ensure alignment with the needs of the local Site Service Team.

  • Use CMMS (MAXIMO) work order service data and OEM specifications to conduct Preventive Maintenance Optimization (PMO) of prioritized job plans to ensure a proper level of procedural detail is captured, value-add steps are incorporated (specifically those that address repetitive and/or high-impact failures), non-value-add steps are eliminated to avoid waste in time/resources, and best maintenance strategy (e.g., Fixed Time (Scheduled), Condition-Based, Run-to-Fail) coupled with PM frequency is executed.

  • Help drive obsolescence for the Tempe Site. Use obsolescence reports to identify critical items.

  • Work with vendors for suitable replacement parts or provide specifications to procure the compatible part(s) if needed. Test and validate the replacement part(s) on the initial machine (change control required).

  • Coordinate with local Site Team for resources to plan, schedule, and complete future deployments.

  • As-needed, provide basic training to the local Site Service Team for reliability solutions involving improvements in machine design, machine setups, or machine recovery.

  • Document procedural steps ("One-Point Lessons") to aid in all training activities.

  • Document all unplanned emergency planned corrective planned preventive maintenance planned training, and planned project work using work orders within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS - MAXIMO).

  • Participate in scheduled "1:1" touchpoint meetings with the local Tempe Site Lead Senior Service Manager and your Senior Reliability Engineering Manager for feedback, progress, alignment, and needs.

  • Grow the reliability culture for the Tempe Site. Demonstrate, educate, collaborate, and set the example.

  • Be a model (with a "let's go" approach) for the local Site Service Team to exemplify that proven/proactive reliability-based execution methods can result in cost-effective betterment; reduction in reactive break-fix "chaos;" and increased planned-work productivity and results.
