Job Description:

Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a Security Project Manager in our Secaucus, NJ location.

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for supervising and managing multiple physical security projects of varied scope
and size. The project manager is also expected to achieve the project's goals by defining the objectives and creating
and executing a successful project plan. The project manager will lead a team of engineers and/or technicians with the
goal of successfully completing the project objectives on time and within the defined budget.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Establish and lead internal project team
  • Responsible for overall project profitability
  • Prepare project execution schedules and keep them updated
  • Manage project resources and staffing
  • Manage project risks and institute appropriate control and corrective action
  • Attend customer project coordination meetings
  • Organize and maintain all project documentation
  • Review and approve project design drawings and documentation
  • Approve material procurement requests
  • Assist with review and interpretation of project specifications, drawings and estimates
  • Assist with technical field and installation issues
  • Manage subcontractors to deliver high-quality installations according to project schedule and budget
  • Negotiate and execute installation subcontracts
  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices
  • Execute projects within established cost estimates and budgets
  • Maintain accurate project forecasts by updating on a regular basis
  • Create project billing schedule of values and manage project invoicing
  • Create and negotiate project change requests with customers
  • Assist with strategic planning for the security integration team and long-term manpower planning
  • Help develop and follow processes, procedures and standards for the security integration team
  • Assist with development of project sales and cost estimates
  • Other duties may be assigned

EDUCATION:


  • Four (4) year college degree required or equivalent work experience

EXPERIENCE:

  • Five years related work experience required

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of project management skills including scope, cost, schedule, budget, etc.
  • Understanding of access control, CCTV, intrusion detection and intercom systems including multi-system integration concepts
  • Ability to read and understand CAD drawings
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to, Word, Excel and Project
  • Strong project documentation concepts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of financial and budgeting concepts
  • Basic understanding of contract language
  • Large-scale construction experience a plus
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills including, but not limited to, the ability to handle multiple demands and assignments, the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently, and the ability to manage resource procurement and utilization.

The work is mostly sedentary. Typically the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However while on job sites
individuals may have to move over rough or uneven surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching,
reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy to light items. Transporting of items such as a laptop
computer, tools, and luggage; driving an automobile, etc.

While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
Employee may work in different environments while on various job sites. This job will require approximately 50% travel to
project sites.
