Job Description:

As part of the JPMorgan Chase Compensation Team, you will perform a variety of complex compensation activities which include providing strategic executive guidance to line and HR management on all matters regarding compensation, navigating and leading the development of compensation practices, supporting compensation funding activities while partnering with Finance, providing comprehensive market information and analysis, managing the administration & coordination of the annual compensation review process, helping to embed the firm's culture relating to compensation within the organization, and providing assistance on the structuring of compensation packages to prospective employees.

Specifically, the successful candidate will:


  • Partner with Functional and HR colleagues to provide advisory to the business helping to ensure that the firm remains at the forefront of practice on compensation issues
  • Provide advice to the business on appropriate global salary and incentive budgeting, modeling and allocation at a business, sub-unit, and individual level including forecasting compensation pools
  • Support the discussion surrounding the evolving regulatory environment and its impact on compensation practices and helps design and implement revised policies and procedures as appropriate
  • Ensure the firm's compensation practices and principles are applied thoughtfully throughout the businesses supported
  • Participate in surveys and perform independent modeling and analysis of internal and external benchmarking data to support the business' rationale for compensation decisions
  • Provide counsel to HR professionals and business managers on individual compensation decisions and provides guidance on the appropriate structuring of compensation packages to prospective employees
  • Actively lead and/or participate in cross-functional and firm-wide projects involving compensation, including but not limited to policy reviews, changes in compensation practices, and systems development
  • Manage the end to end annual compensation planning and administration support, involving global coordination across multiple clients and/or line(s) of business
  • Leverage technical, negotiation and relationship management skills to create, sustain and enhance interaction and influence with HR and line of business clients

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 4+ years of HR/Compensation and/or relevant Finance experience
  • Self-starting, high energy, trusted, and experienced advisor on compensation related matters
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and data/information management skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and enjoy analytical/statistical work
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and consulting skills
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment; ability to work well under pressure and to manage multiple priorities
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft applications; advanced understanding of Excel and PowerPoint is critical
  • Prior experience in the financial services industry is ideal, but not mandatory
