Job Description

Your Contribution

As our Service Technician, you are vital in maintaining FLIR's world-leading position in volume solutions products. You will be responsible for performing service operations including diagnosis, repair and troubleshooting functions, which will result in the successful repair and maintenance of Teledyne FLIR products. Under limited supervision, you will perform set-up and calibration of test and measurement equipment. Repetitive and routine as well as intermediate tasks, using a computer, its peripherals, calibration software and various measuring devices will be performed. Updating of calibration related forms etc. will be carried out as required. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the customer service process and continued process improvements. You will also assist internal and external customers (via in-person, phone, email, etc.) to resolve service-related issues.

  • Include but not limited to diagnosis, service repair and upgrades to all product lines


  • Follow standard repair and maintenance procedures which will be documented to company standards


  • Temporary assignments to other product lines including other departments


  • Provide repair cost estimates as required


  • Operates test equipment


  • Inspects and verifies that work is complete and correct.


  • Train other technicians in the proper use of assembly/test fixtures and product handling


  • Provide troubleshooting and repair support for customers


  • Provide phone support for customers as needed


  • Cultivate and develop positive working relationships with customers, system users and company personnel


  • Technician will also be required to carry out any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the company from time to time

For us, it's more important to have the right person onboard and we are willing to tailor the role to fit your level of experience. But for you to contribute we think you should at least have:


  • Strong comfort with assembling electronics or mechanical products


  • A degree in electronics is considered an advantage


  • Experience from a customer service role is a plus


  • Works well under pressure


  • Must have strong Communication Skills-oral, written & listening to ensure effective communication with team members, customers, and organizational leadership.


  • Responds well to internal and external customer needs


  • Can be counted on to follow through on commitment


  • Ability to take initiative and solve problems independently with little supervision


  • Collaboration & Teamwork skills


  • SAP experience is desirable


  • Fluent language proficiency in English
