Job Description
Cognosante is seeking a Technical Platform/Architect Lead with experience in identifying requirements for system architecture, identifying strategies for addressing requirements, creating an architecture vision, making and disseminating design choices, and establishing and enforcing standards and practices. Must have experience in high volume and high availability networks, software, and systems, and extensive software development experience and thorough knowledge of a variety of programming languages and paradigms.
Key Responsibilities
Apply technical knowledge to assist clients in the design and development of solutions to complex technical engineering and applications problems
Apply knowledge of enterprise IT or engineering needs to design improved applications, generate valid requirements, and ensures that these are consistent with the customer's enterprise technical architecture
Conduct architectural analysis and review, application integration, provide guidance to developers, and ensure adherence to best practices as well as the customer's business objectives
Conduct architectural design with focus on planning, deploying, and supporting system improvements
Collaborate with key stakeholders assessing As-Is environment, construct a To-Be vision based on strategic goals, and a roadmap to achieve the To-Be solution
Troubleshoot customer technical issues in real time
Translate business needs into an executable technical design and roadmap
Prototype solutions to ensure alignment to requirements
Required Qualifications
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent (degree requirement may be substituted with 10 years of additional relevant experience)
A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in leading system architecture and system development projects (full lifecycle) with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
Excellent systems integration experience using RESTful APIs and/or Web Services
Experience using cloud services and working with at least one cloud service provider such as AWS, and/or Azure
Experience conducting feasibility studies, developing cost estimates, and preparing business cases for the application of IT solutions
Experience leading human centered design, business process re-engineering efforts
Understanding of ITSM/ITIL concepts, DevSecOps methods and practices, terminology, and processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to achieve a moderate (Tier 2) VA position of trust

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with distributed, cross-functional teams
Experience working in the Federal Government, Veteran's Administration (VA) experience a plus
Extensive leadership experience in implementing systems migration and integration to disparate platforms including data migration
