We are looking for an entrepreneurially driven gearhead, with a strong mechanical aptitude, to effectively "run their own business" and join our rapidly growing team. The exclusive dealer of Caterpillar equipment in the Northeast, Milton CAT is one of the largest Caterpillar dealerships in the world and the "big kid's sandbox" for the most recognizable construction equipment on the planet.

Milton CAT is looking to invest in and develop the right candidate to drive business (selling parts, labor/service and attachments) within major accounts in Central Massachusetts. This field position involves being on the road every day , meeting with fleet/service managers and executing "business conversations" concerning service strategies to lower the total owning and operating costs of our customers fleets.

Qualifications


  • Strong mechanical aptitude: you "need to know how things work" (gearhead)

  • Love Heavy Equipment and seeing machines in their working environment

  • Strong entrepreneurial drive and work ethic

  • Competitive nature. Driven to succeed. Hate to lose

  • Solid technological aptitude: laptops, DocuSign, apps, navigating new technology

  • Communication Skills: ability to navigate/liaison between customers and our Parts/Services departments

  • Previous experience in the construction or heavy equipment industry a strong plus.

  • Parts and Service background a strong plus (including work-tools and attachments)

  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.


Key Job Functions

  • Assist customer in achieving lower operating costs by recommending appropriate service product options.

  • Meet/exceed targets for sales, profits, units and close ratios through account penetration & prospecting new business

  • Primary liaison between customer and Milton CAT in all areas related to product support.

  • Coordinate/communicate with the customer, service and parts departments to ensure an exceptional level of service.

  • Consult with/train customers on all areas of preventative maintenance (engines, undercarriage, service intervals)
