The Senior Program Manager - Transformation and Change will lead transformation initiatives across the Medtronic Diabetes Americas Region. This highly visible role will lead cross-functional teams to execute Americas work streams associated with Diabetes Enterprise-wide transformation projects. The Senior Program Manager will serve as the Americas liasson on enterprise-wide transformation core teams and provide the "Voice of the Business" for the Americas Region. The role will report to the Senior Director - Transformation and Change.

The role is highly dynamic, requiring strong management and leadership skills, and the ability to oversee and execute on multiple areas of work simultaneously. The role is expected to develop long-term strategic relationships with a wide array of stakeholders and leverage existing relationships within and across Medtronic. Success will depend on effectively influencing and negotiating across businesses and regions to drive alignment on objectives and clear paths to execution.

The problems this role will tackle are complex and undefined, requiring consideration of a wide range of commercial, financial, and strategic inputs and variables that impact multiple areas of the organization. The Senior Manager must have a strong ability to drive projects in a fast-paced matrix environment leveraging leadership and strong interpersonal skills.

A Day in the Life


  • Provide voice of the Americas business to transformation work streams that impact the Americas region.
  • Collaborate with leaders to understand and identify business requirements followed by collaboration to plan and execute key work streams
  • Lead major project work streams within large transformation programs and/or lead transformation programs led by the Americas region
  • Define and build the governance mechanism to actively track transformation and change plans including schedules, budgets, resources, interdependencies and anticipated benefits
  • Define project resource requirements and negotiate team assignments with functional managers, as required
  • Maintain oversight of Transformation risks and mitigation plans to ensure business and project objectives are met
  • Challenge teams to meet and exceed project goals and commitments
  • Provide routine status communications to the Senior Director - Transformation and Change as well as Transformation Project core teams.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements
To be considered, these minimum qualifications must be evident on your resume:


  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience in management consulting/BPO, M&A, integration, supply chain, strategy, process improvement, finance and/or operational excellence (5+ years with Advanced Degree)

  • Project and change Management principles, concepts, practices and standards
  • Experience providing work direction, coaching and guidance to project teams
  • Demonstrated ability to create and leverage influential networks - strong leadership and influence skills
  • Independent thinker, strong self-starter who takes initiative, and is comfortable with ambiguity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to enable effective relationships across Medtronic's matrix-confident and assertive style, but respectful of others and team-oriented
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Demonstrated results-orientation
  • MBA and healthcare experience
  • Top-tier management consulting/BPO experience
  • Experience working with business process outsourcing, transition of work to vendors and/or shared services centers
  • Quantitative and data-driven analytical approach
  • Advanced degree, PMP, Six Sigma and/or Lean certification;
  • Change Management certification
  • Strong program management skills, with proven success in managing highly complex programs resulting in measurable improvement
  • Exceptional presentation, oral, and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to interface effectively with executive leaders
  • Highly adaptable, adjusts style to maximize effectiveness with different audiences, and able to both influence and respond to change
